A bar in Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood is now requiring proof of COVID-19 vaccination for entry.
CC’s posted on its Facebook page that the new policy will take effect May 22. The post pointed to constant changing of mask directives as part of the reason for the new policy, saying the changes “caused confusion and frustration over the right thing to do.”
The bar said that the policy protects staff and everyone who chooses to enter and provides incentive to get vaccinated.
Customers have to show a copy or picture of their vaccine card with the name and date matching their legal ID to enter.
“We understand this may be inconvenient or controversial for some, but it is safer for everyone in the long run,” the post read.
I cannot violate my religious beliefs by getting shot up.
the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which forbids discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, or national origin in public accommodations. Under Title VII of that federal law, no business is allowed to turn away a customer based on their status as a member of one of these protected classes.
How about patrons set up an autonomous zone inside the bar?
Sounds like a HIPPA violation..
I’ll never step foot into the greater Seattle area, much less some a-hole bar in that God forsaken s-hole.
Not rocket science. Just go to a bar that’s not run by a**holes.
Going out of business soon I guess....
“The post pointed to constant changing of mask directives as part of the reason for the new policy”
LOL what a crock.
Only for the customers who aren't ever going back, that's all. Go woke, get broke.
Wasy peezy. DO NOT GO THERE, and encourage every single person you know not to go there.
Then call them and tell them that you are doing exactly that.
Ask the owner to provide the venereal disease status of all his workers before you’ll provide your medical information.
Otherwise, find another bar with an owner who isn’t insane.
By your logic then I guess you think bakers should make cakes for everyone too, right? Can’t have it both ways
Just find another bar. Its the American way. But don’t go after the bars that don’t want purple people.
On a side note, these democrats sure are over the top eager to get us all vaccinated! I know it's not because they love us (they hate us). So what could possibly be the motive? Hmmm?
So, he requires ID AND a valid vaccine card.
Is he for, or against, ID to vote?
Ask the bar owner to show the verified Hepatitis A/B/C status of himself and all his workers, as verified by certified testing as of the start of the current work shift. As well as a current State Food Worker’s Certificate.
Hep is far and away more prevalent among some groups than others. And deadlier.
All i asked was how can this be legal,
The civil rights act seems quite clear.
Someone in Seattle should go get turned away and sue.
This crap needs to be stopped yesterday
I think it’s a bit of a stretch to claim a religious exception. And that’s because it wouldn’t be unreasonable for the bar to think that your beliefs would harm another person’s health.
(I’m not saying that the bar would be correct in thinking that. I’m just saying that the bar would not be unreasonable in thinking it.)
As conservatives, we hold property rights in high esteem. So I’m on the side of the bar in this one.
Ditto
“Can anyone explain to me how this is legal? “
You can choose not to go there.
(Might be safer to require patrons to show proof of their HIV, herpes simplex virus and HPV vaccine status, but whatever.)
