Trump rising: 73% GOP want him to run, beats Harris 49% to 45%

Three-quarters of the Republican base wants former President Donald Trump to run for president again, and 83% of the GOP would vote for him in the 2024 general election. And in a head-to-head race with Vice President Kamala Harris, Trump would win by 4 points.

According to a new McLaughlin & Associates survey, Trump would swamp every single challenger in the primary. In a potential primary, Trump leads with 57%, followed by former Vice President Mike Pence at 10%, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis at 8%, and former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley at 5%.

For the first time in the monthly poll, embattled Wyoming Rep. Liz Cheney was added, and she would get 1% of the GOP primary vote. But she is in good company. Others at 1% include South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem, Fox News’s Tucker Carlson, and former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.

The pollsters, who also did work for Trump in 2016 and 2020, noted that support for Trump is growing.

“Boom, boom!!” they wrote in the analysis.

“All the relentless attacks against President Trump have backfired and will continue to backfire. No wonder the Democrats have moved on from impeachment to hoping for new phony indictments. They must have the same numbers in their polls. The voters want results, but not the kind that they are getting from [President Joe] Biden and Harris,” added brothers John McLaughlin and Jim McLaughlin.

The Election Day support for Trump is down from what he received last year, however.

Of note, 51% of Biden voters do not think he will serve out his term and that Harris will be president on Election Day 2024.

Harris leads in a 2024 primary, with 35% to former first lady Michelle Obama's 16%, New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's 7%, and Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg's 6%.

In a matchup with Trump, the former president is ahead, 49% to 45%.

Unless we put an end to rampant election fraud it won’t matter that real people prefer Trump over Harris.

Like every other poll they cannot account for the silent Trump voter which at a minimum imo adds at least 10 points to Trump.

The only reason Trump did so well is that they didn’t include Larry Hogan’s name on the list. /s

A statistical dead heat? Still, polls this far out are worthless.

Uh.... President Trump already defeated the Democrats in 2020 again. The election was stolen.

If you think President Trump can win in 2024, then you did not learn a thing in the 2020 election.

Elections are RIGGED! We no longer have free elections.

Trump should be in office, and he is not. So your hope of a 2024 election is never going to happen. The Powers That Be will not allow it.

How can you not understand that after what happened in the 2020 election steal?

The "Hoe" getting 45% is downright frightening.

It should be Trump 95% to Harris 5%.

No way that she can beat even a dead Reagan.

But, if the polls were to continue showing 48/45 in favor of Trump, Trump would lose in the end, since, in order to beat Harris or any democrat, a republican would have to be polling at least 30 points ahead. Biden was going to lose BIG TIME, but, election fraud is very hard to overcome in today’s world of “whatever it takes to ‘win’”.

he’s got to run. the sooner the better.

it still amazes me that he beat down the first wave of fraud due to massive wave of maga voters, so they had to shutdown the election on nov 3, and comeback with second and third waves mostly on the machines to “beat” him.

Personally, I’d prefer a younger heir (De Santis, for example), but I’d vote for Trump. Or Pompeo might be good for Prez. In any case, they would only have a chance if he supports them.

Yes, the GOP "leadership" is a tiny minority within GOP but they get all the publicity from the MSM and have all the power. It like the unions. The 90% rank and file are not Democrats. Most are vote Republican and register as independents. Only 10% of union leadership is Democrat.

“Pompeo might be good for Prez.”

I think there’s no “might” about it; Pompeo would be great.

And I hope NEVER to see the word, “Pence”, in the context of the 2024 election. He should just return to radio in some one-horse town, and drop out of the public sight forever.

Why did they put Liz Cheney on there, just for the fun of inserting the two *.

How does the execrable and ineligible Nikki Haley get 5%?

She’s a worse TransRepublican than Flimsey Grahamnesty, she’s on the Mitt Romney level.

Even Biden VOTERS think he's demented? Sheesh, and they voted for him?

“Trump would win by 4 points (over Harris).”

I call BS. Harris couldn’t even get a showing in her own RAT primary race. PDJT won the entire election in a frickin’ landslide. And this poll says there’s only a four-point difference? Gimme a break.
