Wyoming state Sen. Anthony Bouchard (R), who’s challenging Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) for her House seat, acknowledged in an interview with Casper Star-Tribune that he impregnated a 14-year-old girl when he was 18.

So now we’ve got a guy with some backbone who’s willing to fight. In all honesty, I’m not turned off by this because my own family (Great Aunt) married at 14 to a man who was 22. My own Grandmother had to pretend to be her for the marriage license. This was in a very remote, very religious, very poor area of the Country and obviously, a long time ago. The family actually arranged the marriage. Sometimes what’s inconceivable to us is commonplace to others. Desperate times call for desperate measures.

That's really stupid when you have alternatives to the statutory rape candidate. Just pick a better primary opponent to take on Cheney. Not that hard..
My grandfather was 26 and my grandmother was 16 when they were married. I was 20 and my wife was 16. She was determined to get me married to her. I was always respectful of girls who were saving themselves for marriage but some women will do whatever it takes to get a husband. For sure I had my regrets but they were for many other reasons.
What was the time drane? Until very recently the age of consent was as low as 13 in some states. And he ended up marrying the girl. That sounds like owning up to responsibities to me.

A law passed in 2007, as amended, states that people convicted of certain sex crimes involving children may be removed from the sex offender list if they were no more than four years older than their victims, had only that offense on their records, and had victims aged 13–17.

943.04354 Removal of the requirement to register as a sexual offender or sexual predator in special circumstances.—
(1) For purposes of this section, a person shall be considered for removal of the requirement to register as a sexual offender or sexual predator only if the person:
(a) Was convicted, regardless of adjudication, or adjudicated delinquent of a violation of s. 800.04, s. 827.071, or s. 847.0135(5) or of a similar offense in another jurisdiction and if the person does not have any other conviction, regardless of adjudication, or adjudication of delinquency for a violation of s. 794.011, s. 800.04, s. 827.071, or s. 847.0135(5) or for a similar offense in another jurisdiction;
(b)1. Was convicted, regardless of adjudication, or adjudicated delinquent of an offense listed in paragraph (a) and is required to register as a sexual offender or sexual predator solely on the basis of this conviction or adjudication; or
2. Was convicted, regardless of adjudication, or adjudicated delinquent of an offense in another jurisdiction which is similar to an offense listed in paragraph (a) and no longer meets the criteria for registration as a sexual offender or sexual predator under the laws of the jurisdiction in which the similar offense occurred; and
(c) Is not more than 4 years older than the victim of this violation who was 13 years of age or older but younger than 18 years of age at the time the person committed this violation.
(2)(a) If a person meets the criteria in subsection (1), the person may, for the purpose of removing the requirement that he or she register as a sexual offender or sexual predator, move the criminal division of the circuit court of the circuit:

Age and physical maturity can vary greatly.
While my wife and I waited until we were married (she 21, and I, 24. And it was tough waiting, but the wait was worth it!), we both were late bloomers. I grew almost 2” after turning 18, reaching 6’ 2” (actually about 1/4 shy of it. Mom had calculator paper taped to her closet door, and measured her five kids, and grandkids until we all stopped growing. No shoes allowed; and if your heels weren’t ‘squished out’ she knew you were cheating). I didn’t need to shave until almost 19. My 5 yr younger brother was wearing some of my clothes when he was in 7th grade! Shaving by his freshman yr!
My wife grew to a very skinny 5’ 6” by 15 yrs. It was another 3 yrs before she filled out to about 125#. It was just before she turned 19 that the dental braces came off, and she started taking a greater interest ‘dolling herself up’. A gorgeous woman then, and now, at 64!
That said, when I was a senior in hs, there was an 13 yr old 8th grader at our small town school that could have easily passed for a senior as well. It drove the physically mature guys crazy that they would be risking jail by being with her (she knew that she was pretty and would flirt with them in town.)
The WY dude may have just turned 18 at the time, and she may have been just shy of 15. And thy both may have looked 18 to most people. They married?.... case closed in imo.
It wasn’t. The age of consent in WY has been 16 for over 100 years.

They don’t call the GOP the Surrender Party for nothing. The first whiff of grape and you can see the white flags out already on this candidate. The country is gone and you can in large part thank limp wristed GOP voters for it.
And the worst part, according to liberals, is he couldn’t convince the girl to have an abortion.
