The Hermosa Beach City School District recently hired a diversity, equity and inclusion consultant who will help train teachers about their white privilege, among other duties.
The decision has prompted anger and frustration among a group of parents who argued against infusing race and privilege trainings into the very small public school district, located in a coastal city south of Los Angeles and consisting of two elementary schools and a middle school.
But the school board members who made the decision to hire Loyola Marymount University psychology Professor Sheri Atwater to serve as the district’s diversity, equity and inclusion consultant stand behind their decision, according to their public comments at their May 12 meeting.
One board member accused parents who stood in opposition to the hire of living in an echo chamber, while others suggested the concerned parents simply misunderstand the lessons and goals of the diversity, equity and inclusion curriculum.
Atwater, in response to the concerns, said she would not use “shame or guilt” when she teaches on topics such as race, color blindness, implicit bias and similar topics, according to the video of the school board meeting.
Atwater also said during the meeting that what she trains on is not “critical race theory.” But the scholar’s published works include weighing in on “whiteness norms … that systemically benefit white people” and arguments against a color-blind society, according to her faculty bio.

Realizing it’s California, another example of why Conservative folks need to start getting on school boards.

I get along with, respect, and enjoy people that get up and do honest work everyday - no matter what color they are.
I have NO respect for the whiners, complainers, and over-educated numbskulls who contribute nothing to the effort - no matter what color they are.
The first group should be thanked - the second shot.
This kind of crap is happening everywhere. I guess people love their tax dollars used against them. The fix is to take over school boards and slash spending. Cut all the “support staff” in schools. Get rid of administrators. Freeze teacher pay. Make teachers seek employment in the real world. Increase class size. Cut curriculum. Slash the hell out of everything. All the money being spent has not increased education outcomes one bit. Just reset to the 1950’s.
Wait...isn’t making a blanket attribution of a particular characteristic to a particular ethnic group itself racist? “White folks are inherently racist” is a racist statement. Therefore, Dr. Atwater is a racist.

The teachers should reply that white privilege stems from their inherent superiority. Watch the diversity consultant’s heads explode.
When you hire someone to find “racism” in your school, they will find racism and continue to find “racism”.
It is called “Job Security.” If they find no “racism” no need to have someone in that position.
Gosh, I seem to remember there's a word for that... Oh yeah, that is literally the very definition of racism that comes up from a google search:

Most people are prejudiced against poor looking of any race.. most are prejudiced against unkempt person and property of any race .. most are prejudiced against loud and boisterous people of any race...

Truth be told, I’m starting to be ok with this stigmatism... After all we’ve put up with over the years, starting way back with affirmative action to the present, seeing, daily, the absolute animalistic behaviour of the black culture, from the bowels of the hood, to this nation’s political body, I’m beginning to say I agree that whites are racist. We don’t like black people. SOLELY DUE TO THEIR OWN BEHAVIOR!!
