In a world in which massive violations of human rights have, tragically, become the norm, why has the hard left focused on one of the least compelling of those causes — namely, the Palestinians? Where is the concern for the Kurds, the Chechens, the Uyghurs, the Tibetans? There are no campus demonstrations on their behalf, no expressions of concern by “the Squad” in Congress, no United Nations resolutions, no recurring op-eds in The New York Times, and no claims that the nations that oppress these groups have no right to exist.
The Kurds have never been offered independence or statehood, despite treaties that promised it. Nor have the Tibetans, the Uyghurs or the Chechens. But the Palestinians have, on multiple occasions since 1938, when their leader told the Peale Commission that the Palestinians don’t want a state — they just want there not to be a Jewish state.
Why? The answer is clear and can be summarized in one word: Jews.

Using civilians as Human shields, sneak attacks with explosives, indoctrinating children into a harmful ideology, seeking control of the “others”, and being extremely vocal about it, all while claiming to be the victims.

At the very bottom, this conflict is simply about jealousy and envy. In just over seventy years, the Jewish state of Israel has surpassed all her Arab neighbors, which are in most cases much older entities, in standard of living, in economy, in intellectual and artistic achievement. Hamas has Iranian-supplied Katyusha rockets.... the Israelis have their own-developed defense system Iron Dome. What other example do you need? Further realize that the Israelis could wipe out Gaza if they so chose but show remarkable restraint. Do you think the Pallies or any other Arab 'army' would show such compassion?

There are no Progressives in Palestine. Thus, the Left loves theoretical causes. Reality would intrude on their preconceptions.

There is much truth in what you say.
Progressives deny the existence of God.
To them, government is, if not God, god on earth.
It is why they hate Christianity as well.
They hate anything which says there is a moral limit to government power.
