Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee signed a so-called controversial bathroom bill into law Friday, according to the state General Assembly website, prompting criticism from those who say the bill is discriminatory toward transgender individuals.
The Tennessee Accommodations for All Children Act -- also known as House Bill 1233 -- requires public schools to make "reasonable accommodation" for a person who cannot or will not use a restroom or changing facility designated for their sex in a public school building or at a school-sponsored activity.
The bill defines a person's sex as "a person's immutable biological sex as determined by anatomy and genetics existing at the time of birth." It defines "reasonable accommodation" as having access to a "single-occupancy restroom or changing facility" or "use of an employee restroom or changing facility." "A reasonable accommodation does not include access to a restroom or changing facility that is designated for use by members of the opposite sex while persons of the opposite sex are present or could be present," the bill reads.
The Human Rights Campaign, an LGBTQ advocacy group, issued a statement following the governor's signing of the bill saying the law will "deny transgender students access to the bathroom and locker rooms consistent with their gender identity."

Thank you Governor
Excellent!
Simply go back to outhouses, and make the assigned group of the kids come up each month to dig twenty new ‘pits’.
MLB, NBA, NFL ban in 3... 2… 1…
Only thing controversial about this is the fact these mentally ill folks are being pandered to at all...
I identify as a dog therefore every public school must provide a fire hydrant and a doggie door...
Insane
Gas-lighting alert. Calling it “controversial”. Like anyone normal wants CONTROVERSIAL transgender bathrooms...
Trannies need to use bathrooms. They should use that for which they are biologically equipped, not emotionally drawn.
We also have these restrooms called “unisex.” Enter alone, close the door, lock it, do your business quickly, and come out.
That is all. Don’t need legislation. Don’t needs tweets. Just need to grow up.
It’s sad that this country is to the point where this could be “controversial”.
Meaning by extension if a person identifies as a wolf then he must be provided meat on the floor. Accommodation of a delusional psychological condition does not help those with it.
I guess when the term “racism” can not be used then insert “controversial “ in its place.
But how are the high school guys now supposed to ‘check out’ the girls if they’re not allowed into their locker rooms?
So the middle aged man who claims he’s a women will no longer have access to the female bathroom. sanity finally
Since I was five I’ve identified as the Queen of Spain. But,strangely enough,on each of the 35 occasions that I’ve knocked on the front door of the royal palace in Madrid shouting “let me in” an ambulance showed up and took me to a hospital.
