They’ll figure out something. Doesn’t need to be real (and it won’t be). The purpose here is not to serve justice against a criminal, but rather to make the bad orange man suffer. They want to distract him from his work, take away his money, and steal the time he has left on this Earth keeping him tied up in nonsense process.
Anyone bringing an indictment against him for a bunch of nonsense should immediately be sued for prosecutorial misconduct and abuse of authority.
These people and groups compose The Party. Historically, authoritarian regimes use fictitious tales of treason as the pretext for crushing their political rivals and cowing their citizens into submission. Propaganda organs parrot the regime’s party line while less compliant media are censored.
Having pulled off the greatest electoral con and coup in our history, The Party will never relinquish power.
In Occupied America:
• Donald Trump is an unperson. Make an example of him. Humiliate him and his wonderful family. Imprison him. Set an example. No more Trumps.
• Government schools conduct daily Two Minutes Hate at images of Donald Trump and his Deplorables.
• Public denunciations of MAGA. Grovel to The Party or become, like Donald Trump, an unperson.
• Free speech and press are conditional on the speech and press. All things MAGA are prohibited.
• The first purpose of federal agencies is to destroy political opponents, the unrepentant Trumpsters.
The purpose here is not to serve justice against a criminal, but rather to make the bad orange man suffer.

I don’t think they actually worry about Trump suffering, he has good lawyers and they won’t touch him, the idea is to scare away anyone willing to get on board with him. It is a message being sent that “if you run with trump we will bring you a lot of trouble and headache.” Trump knew he would get it and served us anyway, what a man.
Prosecutors have absolute immunity for their charging decisions. They can’t be “sued for misconduct” as you suggest.
Isn’t the law grand?
