The Supreme Court has dealt the Biden administration a defeat on a “caretaking” case. The case tested whether or not police could enter private property without a warrant if an individual was believed to pose a threat to himself or others.
In the case Caniglia v. Strom, the Supreme Court ruled that “caretaking” did not justify entering a man’s home to remove firearms because he was believed to have expressed suicidal thoughts. The man was taken to a local mental health facility for psychiatric evaluation.
“Police entered the home under a ‘community caretaking’ exception that allows entry in cases where doing so benefits the public interest, which has traditionally applied to incidents regarding vehicles but not in homes,” Forbes reported.

I joined the NRA as a Life Member in 1986 but haven’t given them any donations since approx. the mid-’90s. I’ve had an ever-increasing lack of confidence in them from about that point.
Started giving to GOA when I can about 10+ years ago. My impression of them has steadily risen. This 9-0 decision is nice and is a very timely roadblock to further “red flag” laws.
It doesn’t end them completely but without no-warrant searches “red flag” laws will be pretty feeble.

It used to be that realistic and cynical had different meanings.
Lol!
So silly. I wish people would keep their conspiracy theories to themselves, especially when there is zero proof - zero proof.
The SCOTUS is the very definition of "Arbitrary and Capricious", so when they do something fairly logical it is shocking and arouses suspicion.
It would be like if CNN all of a sudden reported the truth about something
Unanimous, maybe the world is really turning upside down.
