Cool. What kind of training?

She will be partially weaned when I get her, so FIRST I train her to eat (very expensive, nutrient packed) dry kibble with a little milk replacer. She’ll be missing her Doggy Mama. :(

As she grows I am in charge of teaching her the basic commands (Come, Sit, Stay, Leave It!) and how to walk on a lead, ‘With ME!’ Yank. ‘With ME!’ Yank. ;)

She will be too young for Bear Camp which starts in July, so she’ll be hanging out with me for the summer, growing and following our Beagle around for some basic scent training.

If she has the aptitude, Beau plans on making her a Bear Dog. If not, she can learn to be a raccoon dog - which is MUCH less prestigious, but (in our part of Hicksville, USA) can still earn you a wall full of AKC awards and decorations. ;)

Raising one puppy at a time is peanuts! My FIRST litter, when I accepted Beau’s proposal and moved here to ‘Abandon All Hope Farm’ I had SEVEN underfoot! 2019 I had FOUR to raise. 2021 will be a Cake Walk. ;)
