A Minnesota judge on May 13 delayed the trial of three former police officers who were involved in the arrest of George Floyd in Minneapolis last year, after one of the officer’s defense attorneys argued that the medical examiner who performed Floyd’s autopsy was coerced by prosecutors.
Thomas Lane, J. Kueng, and Tou Thao, according to court records, will now face trial on March 7, 2022, a delay of more than six months from the previous date.
Hennepin County District Judge Peter Cahill told a pretrial hearing in Minneapolis that he wanted to give time for federal prosecutors to pursue their case against the three men, local media reported.
A federal grand jury last week indicted the trio and Derek Chauvin, the other former officer involved in Floyd’s death, alleging the officers violated Floyd’s constitutional rights when they restrained him on the ground outside Cup Foods, where he was accused of using counterfeit money.
Floyd eventually stopped breathing and was soon ruled dead.
Chauvin was convicted in April of second-degree murder, third-degree murder, and second-degree manslaughter. He faces up to 40 years in prison.
Lane, Keung, and Thao face aiding and abetting murder and aiding and abetting manslaughter charges. The first charge carries up to 40 years in prison.
The federal charge the former officers were indicted on carries up to life in prison, with the death penalty possible in certain scenarios.
Matthew Frank, a state prosecutor, told Cahill he disagreed with pushing the trial back into next year and that he wanted it to proceed in August, KARE 11 reported.

No mention of giving the defense more time to prepare their case? Huh.
So again, our corrupt DOJ will do everything their evil asses can do to keep this from coming to a JUST out come. THE DOJ is corrupt. We all know it.
Almost as if .... folks are waiting to see if zhou bay din ends up being defrocked and the rightful President Trump resumes command.
If they had simply murdered an unarmed Trump supporter we would not even know their names.
100+ generals are saying Biden's not fit. That's all part of the plan to put Kamala in as the President.
Then Scott Adams and other like minded dimwits can jump for joy.
Too true.
Yup
Yup. See my tag line.
Those 3 were caught jumping on George Floyds neck and that caused him to stop breathing.
Body of the article doesn’t match the lede.
Body says trial is being postponed because they are letting the Feds go first.

Always suspected this was the case. It took weeks for the autopsy results. Why?
Why can’t the Minn. and Fed cases run concurrently?
If they can prove “tampering” and “intimidation”, it could force an appeal decision in the defense’s favor (i.e change of venue, jury tampering/corrupt jurors charges, etc).
This has got to be made into a TV show Three Part series. Goes to show just how Marxist/corrupt Minnesota has become, esp. in Minneapolis which deserves to be burnt to the ground and rebuilt by sane Americans).
The earlier Kamala gets in, the longer her track record of failure going into 2024.
the black vote is reliably 90 to 95 percent to the dems. there is no concocted court drama needed. they have a hive mentality. they are conditioned to be dem and so they will vote dem. no critical thinking.
I (almost) never read anything with “bombshell” in the title.
It is a Kangaroo Trial, being held in a Kangaroo Court before a Kangaroo Judge with a Kangaroo Prosecutor. What the Defense does or does not do is immaterial. The Judge is no longer attempting to hide his bias. Hi is supposed to be impartial. A Stalin Soviet show trial would be more fair. A Jew in the 1930s Germany appearing before a “People’s Court” Judge would be treated more fairly. This is another mockery. But it is where we are.
