Gasoline shortages have begun…

This is crazy. I stopped for gas just now having no idea what was happening. It’s out. People here told me they’d been to other stations and found the same. pic.twitter.com/7LDVdUXPo4

In this case, the simplest explanation is that "hacking" is being allowed to happen in order to justify more spending of our tax dollars and to control our behavior even more.

Not to worry Comrade, once we're all driving electric cars powered by wind and the sun we won't have this problem anymore. (/extreme sarcasm)

Just wait: Government controls built into every electric car in the future, with some CCPDemocrat bureaucrat deciding if your social credit score means you get to drive today. Oh the glory of the Party!

The ciber world is able to trck down the adddresses of the criminal hackers. They should be raided and exterminated. We have the ability to stop this sort of criminal behavior. Trump would have done it, oBiden welcomes it as aiding his empowerment. A very evil regime now holds power, power which they stole from We The People. This does not turnout well.

This could be the straw that breaks the liberal camel’s back.

That has a nice sound to it!

Since we've been trying to tell the sheeple to no avail, now it's time to show the sheeple.

This is intentional to bring down the already fractured supply chain. You have a Resident in the White House who is nothing more a clown for our enemies.

Virtually nothing is air-gapped in our infrastructure... zilch, nada, nothing.

You knew that and I knew that. How many others reading this thread also knew that? Generally speaking, I consider the overwhelming majority of those who read this forum pretty smart and independent thinkers. Still, I wonder how many really knew this?

The majority of this activity comes from Russia, China and North Korea. The workers doing the "hacking" are government supported, work in nice office buildings (in China and Russia) and are highly respected amongst their families and neighbors.

Don’t even have to go there. The companies that get hit by ransomware are the ones that refuse to upgrade when they need to, won’t spend money to keep up to date and often don’t have proper backups.

A lot of large companies and local governments have been hit by ransomware in the last decade. You don’t hear about it a lot in recent years because competent IT folks given reasonable budgets and approvals plus a rational security policy can make ransomware totally pointless, if it ever even enters into your systems.

Unfortunately, it does mean that you have to fire Old Mabel down in reception who can’t remember any password more complex than “password,” who clicks on every link in every email and every ad she sees and doesn’t understand why she’s supposed to lock her computer when she walks away from it so she doesn’t do it.

Wasn’t this hacking possible when President Dr. Trump was in office?

Of course.

But driving up fuel prices wasn't one of Trump's goals. It is a goal of lefties.

The majority of intelligent posters disappeared years ago.

Air gaps (as proved by Stuxnet) aren't really effective anyway.

“Unrestricted Warfare,” authored by Colonel Qiao Liang and Colonel Wang Xiangsui of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army in 1999, spelled out pretty clearly what is likely happening in our country. Asymmetrical warfare.

Don’t worry, they’ll be doing that within a day or so.

I'm somewhat surprised they haven't already. They have this knee-jerk penchant for screaming "Trump's fault!" at everything. Democrats are never responsible for the messes they create!

professional, government paid “hackers”

True. How to keep the doofus working for you from clicking on the file in their email: “Nude pics of miley cyrus here!” is the real problem in my (very limited) experience.

The ‘state of emergency’ only applies to the truckers/carriers who carry gas/diesel/airplane fuel, so they don’t have to adhere to the normal 70 hour rule for truckers.

Not uncommon in times of natural disaster or other issues. https://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/emergency-declarations

Mobile and Pensacola should have no supply problems as they get supplied by barge..

There were stories about possible gas shortages due to a shortage of truck drivers before the cyber attack. If that was accurate, there will be delays resupplying service stations until things are back to normal.

clicking on the file in their email

Blocking harmful email is something the majority of businesses have had under control for a decade. It's core vulnerabilities in Cisco hardware, Linux, Windows, MacOS and application servers like WebLogic, etc. that are the majority of the problem.

Perhaps the hackers don’t have to worry about it. Perhaps some in the Justice dept are part of it. Back when they were claiming the Russians hacked the DNC, some were bragging about how they could do a hack that looked like it came from Russia. I’m just perhapsing a little this morning.

What’s worse is that if the infrastructure can’t be airgapped, they are often not on a private network or even a virtual private network. There’s a lot of things around like water treatment plants, dams and even drawbridges that for some idiot reason are just sitting naked on the internet, sometimes even on unsecured Wifi networks. Good luck getting older execs and leaders to understand why these need to be fixed, let alone to approve the needed work. “It’s worked fine, we don’t need to change it.”
