Addiction doesn't just creep up on some people - one hit of an opioid can cause permanent changes to the brain, and anyone who takes opioids (including the prescription opioids) is at risk of addiction.

Your statement is categorically false. In fact, there are a percentage of people known as “chippers,” whom do not get addicted regardless of what substance they ingest.
