The SCGOP’s big guns did not come out for the former vice president.
Former vice president Mike Pence made his first big political speech since leaving office last week – traveling to Columbia, South Carolina to headline an event hosted by Palmetto Family, a prominent social conservative organization in this key “First in the South” primary state.
-snip-
After the South Carolina event, as Pence aides trotted out “luminaries” who hailed his speech (including former SCGOP chairman Chad Connelly) several attendees told me they were shocked by the lack of big-name Republican support at the gathering.
“Where was the governor? The lieutenant governor? The attorney general?” one event attendee told me, referring to Henry McMaster, Pamela Evette and Alan Wilson.
None of those three statewide elected officials attended Pence’s speech – absences which were conspicuous to say the least.
I don’t have an answer, either … but Pence’s Palmetto State visit clearly took place amid an atmosphere of elevated uneasiness and pervasive suspicion within the SCGOP. And make no mistake: Trump loyalists are keeping their eyes peeled for politicos who come off as excessively demonstrative in their support of Pence (and other aspiring 2024 hopefuls who have displeased the former president).
“I had the distinct impression the only Trump people there were taking names,” one GOP strategist who attended the Pence event told me. “Big brother was definitely watching.”
An Upstate activist who attended the event said he caught a Trump backer “staring holes in me” at one point during Pence’s address.
“We we both clapping pretty hard,” the activist told me, recalling the intensity of this unspoken exchange. “Then I realized we weren’t clapping at the same thing.”
So … is this why McMaster, Evette and Wilson took a pass on this event?

Nobody, even those who use them, likes a back stabbing traitor. And Former Vice President Pence is traitor number one.
Also, Falwell, Jr., isn’t a minister; he’s a lawyer.
“’I had the distinct impression the only Trump people there were taking names,’ one GOP strategist ... told me.”
ha ha ha!! I love it.
“Is Trump stupid enough to give this swamp ba$tard the time of time? I say, absolutely.”
I believe he already has. Didn’t Trump and Pence meet/talk a couple weeks ago?
And where was Miss Lindsey for this? Hiding behind a curtain? I didn’t see his name mentioned in any way.
Pence needs to go away.
Just retire and be glad for what he got away with.
“Thanks to Dan Shultz and his Precinct Project strategies, internecine war has broken out across the country.”
This is really taking off. I love the testimonials on War Room, and think it’s so interesting that when conservative newcomers show up at GOP meetings to become involved in THEIR elections, they’re like shunned like turds in a punch bowl. Fog City Midge’s story is interesting.
The establishment GOP hate the thought that they’re losing control and actual patriots might take the power.

Pence’s best option is to move to Arizona and become a caddy for Day Quayle!
Lin Wood has someone on record swearing as to how Pence got blackmailed as guv by being provided with at first young men, then boys. Which makes sense when you consider that Jeff Flake was his “best friend” in Congress.
That should be DAN Quayle.... see how easy it is to forget the names of lame vice-presidents?
Pence is a compromised traitor. He is owned by the deep state. He has no future in politics.
Also, Falwell, Jr., isn’t a minister; he’s a lawyer.
Didn’t know that. Did know Pence is one though.
BINGO
He had an opportunity to listen to seven states whose votes were in question. He denied that. Do your homework. Why do you think informed people are pissed at him?
He had his shot and choaked at the last minute. He could have acted, even if symbolically, on Jan. 6 and he didn’t. He jumped ship on Trump and should be rejected by the New Republican (Trumpocratic) Party. He should go back to state politics—the Old Vichy Repubs will reject him and the New Repubs see him a an Iscariot. His day is done. It sucks to be him. Even Benedict Arnold regretted selling out George Washington in the end.
Maybe he can make Susan Collins and Liz Cheney swoon and do an appearance with Mitt Romney. This is just raising money for his traitorous ass.
He should go back to state politicsHe's not even worthy of that.
He can no longer be trusted to do what's right for the people.
Thank you for the link. GMTA!
Mike Pence could have resigned his post prior to accepting the questionable receipts. There’s NOTHING unconstitutional about that act. Full stop.
What would happen next is anybody’s guess. One thing would be for certain- Mike Pence would have washed his hands of the fraud and could hold his head up high for the rest of his life instead of bobbing and weaving.
What would happen next is anybody’s guess.
What would’ve happened next is anybody’s guess.
Good
