The US economy added 266,000 jobs in April, a huge miss of the median estimate of 1 million new payrolls.
The unemployment rate rose to 6.1% from 6%, while economists had expected it to drop to 5.8%.
The payrolls increase marks a fourth straight monthly gain, but the smallest since January.

It shocks me,
I am not shocked that the numbers were so low, I’m shocked they didn’t just lie and make up positive numbers like they always do.
Though maybe they did, and the “real” numbers are so bad that these are the best they can do with all their tweaks.
Well, last month was as good as it’s gonna get for Biden’s employment numbers.
$15 per hour X 40 hours = $600
Unemployment: 300 + 350 per week= $650
———
Numbers are wrong.
It’s really $15/ hour x 29.5 hours (ObamaCare remember) = $442.50 - minus taxes etc.
So $400/ week vs. $650/ week.
Not a hard choice.
Unemployment rate for college grads is 3.5%. Less than a college degree is 9.3% and HS degree at 6.9%, although that is artificially high as so many in that category are “looking” for work, but not actually looking for work to maintain their sweet benefits.
Why work when Harris-Biden will send you regular UBT checks to buy weed, UberEats and Dogecoin?
Beer and cigs........................
Just take the "official" copy of the report and write in a "1," with an ink pen, in front of the "266,000".
Voila! Beat expectations by 26.6 percent! Put it on the CBS evening news!
Well, maybe he actually said "A million points of light" - he's a malignant plagiarizer after all
“If they are telling us we only added 266,000, you KNOW it’s even worse than that.”
As a precursor, March payroll numbers were reduced significantly while February numbers increased slightly.

These kind of articles always mystify me. How are people out of work (that want to work)? I have never, ever had a problem finding a job.
With the country opening up, one would expect lots of folks returning to work.... 1 Million should not be unexpected if that is all true.
The comparison is apt. After the iceberg collided, the water was coming in in such a way as to eventually overtop the hull sections regardless of the watertight doors. Sinking was inevitable. Shutting them slowed it down.
Biden is apparently an accelerationist.
Low skilled slack jawed mouth breathers have hard time finding six figure salaries..............
It begins....the Democrat Party, the faux, POTUS, Democrat, Joe Biden, from his first day as Illegal POTUS has undertaken the Destruction of the American Republic!!! Sad days for the USA, because Americans are weak and do not have the guts, stomachs and backbones to throw Biden and his Democrat low life into the nearest garbage can, where they rightfully all belong!!! “SAD”!!!

The U3 unemployment rate doesn’t take into account underemployment. For a least a decade, 74% of STEM graduates (er the RIGHT type of degree) can not find work in their own field, due mostly to Indian OPTs and H1Bs and H4EADs.
I, for one, won’t even think about working a blue-collar starter job (that’s all that’s hiring in Northern Colorado). So I dutifully do 5 LinkedIn quick applies per week to fill my job search requirements.
I’m fully employed. Every week I claim my foreign income, and every week, CDLE adjusts my weekly earnings from what I input down to $0 (can’t claim foreign income) and I get the full unemployment benefit amount

Actually it’s reversed. Low- and unskilled blue and white collar workers have mainly returned to work.
Skilled blue-collar and white-collar workers in certain sectors (entertainment) of the economy (travel, tourism, live events, conventions, concerts, fairs, sports, music, cinema, movies, theater) have not returned or are just now starting to take steps to return)
Lots of newly unemployed in the energy sector…
