The fun part - I have actually been profiled for being a motorcyclist far more than my race. Which you can’t really tell until I take my helmet off.
The not so fun part - back when Boomers were more a part of police forces than they are now, apparently the majority of officers I encountered seemed to think (like, well, many other Boomers) that all motorcyclists were scumbags straight out of Easy Rider or the other anti-motorcyclist 70s movies. No matter how attired or what they were riding.
Well, I guess the Hell’s Angels “types” have turned out to be some of the most patriotic folks we know. Maybe they were all along, but I admit, I was afraid of some of those big ol’ dudes when I was younger.
My hubby rode a motorcycle but it was a Honda or a Yamaha. Not as much stigma to those. I even rode behind. I could never get the hang of changing gears with your feet. LOL!
