Top Republicans McCarthy, Scalise back Stefanik as Cheney replacement amid battle over Trump

I really don't disagree with much of what you've posted there at all. Two things I would point out:

1. Assuming this is going to be a "woman-only" GOP leadership post for the time being, are there any Freedom Caucus members who would fit the bill?

2. Along those lines ... Marsha Blackburn might have been a great fit for this post before she moved from the House to the Senate.

Courage is the most important human quality required of leaders. McCarthy lacks it. Cheney lacks it. McConnell lacks it. And I fear the members of the Freedom Caucus lack it.

That's an excellent observation and right on topic except for one important point that should be obvious just by reading through the list of those who lack the courage you describe:

I have never once in my life considered a House member or a U.S. Senator to be a "leader" in any sense of the word.

These people aren't leaders -- they're tools. A President should be a leader. A governor should be a leader. Even a local mayor or any business owner should be a leader. Other than that, the vast majority of the elected officials I come across couldn't lead me out of a burning house.

Thanks for your insightful analysis. I am far from being dumber than a rock. I will dust you in an intellectual endeavor. Perhaps it didn't occur to you that I know exactly how American politics works and that is the exact reason I oppose Stefanik, McCarthy and Scalise on this issue.

As for Scalise literally taking a bullet for being Republican, it was tragic. However, heroes are not born by being victims of demented Bernie followers. Victimhood does not give them a free pass to make piss poor decisions such as supporting Stefanik instead of actively seeking and supporting someone worthy of the position.

I'll clearly side with Trump's thinking on heroes, per his take on John McCain. Trump was right. The nuance in that is being a victim does not make a good leader. Quite honestly, that is a Democrat ideal. They are party of victims.

You need to come up with a better reason than 'Scalise took a bullet' to make a cogent argument. Talk about someone that may be dumber than a rock. Really, such sound thinking, err, I mean feeling, is not the basis of intelligence greater than a rock.

I am seriously questioning if there are any. It is disappointing to me.

As for you never considering a member of House as being a leader in any sense of the word; on the surface, you are correct. There are very few leaders on the Republican side of the aisle. They are lacking. I portend that the House GOP does require leaders, just the correct ones. Those leaders need to follow the leader of the GOP, which I currently consider as being Donald J. Trump. Consider them as middle management that lead masses of the elected Republican congressmen. However, they must report to, follow the leadership and be loyal to executive management, in this case, President Trump. They did not show that during the first two years of Trump's term, when they held the majority in both the House and Senate. They squandered great opportunities and lost 2018 and 2020 because of it.

The question is...how far?

Going after Scalise because he supports Stefanik to replace Cheney is absurd, especially when there's no one waiting in the wings to replace her.

Stefanik and Scalise have both been a staunch Trump allies in Congress, and there is zero reason for conservative bedwetters to attack them for moving against Cheney.

Out of the frying pan, into the fire. Stefanik is horrid on conservative issues. Most notably, she voted FOR the Orwellian “Equality Act.”

That one failure disqualifies her for leadership in ANY capacity in my book, and in the books of tens of millions of other conservatives.
