While Stefanik rose to prominence in part due to her defense of Trump during his first impeachment, she only voted in line with the former president's positions 77.7% of the time — compared to Cheney's 92.9%, according to FiveThirtyEight.

Replacing a RINO with a bigger RINO is not necessarily an improvement. Since gender seems to be the deciding factor then surely there are more conservative Republican women in the House to choose from than Stefanik?

Elise has done very well. She destroyed her woke Hollywood backed anti-Second Amendment opponent twice.

Followed that beautiful destruction twice in a row.

77% agreement is a good friend.

A Leftist turd is an eminent danger daily.

Elise is great to replace Liz Cheney. The sooner, the better.

Who to choose?

Do the opposite of whatever CNN, the NY Slimes, and WashPost are suggesting.

So if those leftwing bozos are all saying Liz Cheney should stay, then obviously Elise Stefanik is the correct choice!!

Elise came along late but she was heading in the right direction. She’s also from NY and she’s the best we’re going to do to keep seats in that state. She’s also not a deep-state warmonger like Liz.

DITCH LIZ!!! That’s the message that needs to be sent now.

“Replacing a RINO with a bigger RINO is not necessarily an improvement.”

While I agree we could do better, I really THE MESSAGE this sends to rest of the party...which is that they most anti-Trump Republican is being replaced by the most Pro-Trump Republican, at least when it comes to defending Trump.

I’m willing to give her a shot - at a minimum it will be tough for her to insult us Trump supporters, given her own history of supporting Trump. I also like the idea of a woman like her replacing Cheney, as Cheney would just bitch about how they drove her out to replace her with a man...now she cannot make that claim, at least.

I think on the Rino-scale, if you grade Liz Cheney as a ‘9’, then Elise Stefanik is probably a ‘4’. This is probably one of the problems for about quarter of all Republicans in the House...you have a District designed in a way that only a moderate-or-ultra-moderate Republican can win.

On Cheny’s behalf....she only reached her position because of her husband’s status. She was probably a complete Democrat, and no one ever said a word about that (even her husband).

Because the establishment of the GOP never supported Trump...

There is NOTHING Cheney has said or done they disagree with...

This is theater to calm the base that they really don’t care about at all

Ha ha. As if policy or principle had anything to do with it.

Just don’t say it’s a personality cult.

It’s worse than that. Stefanik has a lifetime ACU rating of about 44, making her one of the most liberal Republicans in the House by that measure. In some ways, she is more in line with moderate Democrats than the average Republican. Cheney has a lifetime rating of about 75: not the most conservative member of Congress by any means, but she is in the conservative mainstream of her party.

If Stefanik is more acceptable than Cheney, then that means personal loyalty to Trump has replaced conservatism as the standard for the Republican Party.
