Hmmmm, at first glance I say he deserves another trial. Waiting to hear from other Freepers.

Yes...and he should get off due to a severe miscarriage of justice in the first show trial.

The jury was not sequestered.

The city paid $27m while the trial was happening.

Mad Max's comments during the trial.

Juror #52 lied about attending blm and other marches.

The deployment of the National Guard.

The court house being armed like Fort Knox.

The overall intimidation by blm/antifa.

Which of those points raised do YOU believe are not true? IF NONE, why you need to hear from anyone? This group think mentality is one of the things bleeding out this great country. Be strong, be independent, think for yourself.

No evidence at the trial says he contributed to Floyd’s death. None. Yet, they convict??

To me it's a slam dunk he should get a new trial - and out of Minneapolis.

He does deserve a new trial. But Minneapolis can’t afford it

Unfortunately every justice organization sees him as a dangerous hot potato and will deny him his due process of a fair trial. So sad but that is a fact. Nobody in their right mind would wanna take it up after what the mediapukes the BLM the president his administration Maxine Waters etc. have done to this poor man. But at the end vengeance is mine says the Lord!

He deserves one alright, but it won’t make any difference whether he gets one or not. Public opinion has already decided he’s guilty.

I think a mistrial should be declared on several grounds.

But the reality is these motions are pro forma and almost never granted. They basically set up the appeal.

The first one wasn’t a trial, it was a kangaroo court.

“I say he deserves another trial.”

I agree. Whether or not he’s guilty, we’re finding out the jury was compromised. Fair is fair.

I would say he needs a summary judgment dismissing all charges because it is crystal clear Floyd died at his own hand not Chauvin’s knee.

That said, I THINK he pulled a smart move. Namely, he hired a cheap lawyer for Trial # 1 KNOWING that Clarence Darrow himself with unlimited staff could not get him off in a local trial with a local, scared to death, jury.

Trial # 2 will likely be a different story. I look for a change of venue, a sequestered jury, and well paid TOP lawyer(s) to represent him. Newt put up the “Kenosha Kid’s” money. I’m betting some rich conservative somewhere in the world will help out Chauvin.

I think he should get another trial. One of the jurors clearly engaged in misconduct, lied in his responses to questions when he was being screened in the jury pool. Any other citizen would get a new trial, and Derek Chauvin should get a retrial if he wants one.

Don’t worry, Black Live Matter will love this. The were really depressed when the jury delivered the guilty verdicts. They were all dressed up to riot with nowhere to go.

Tic Toe...

“Bill Cosby’s Appeal to Be Heard by Pennsylvania’s Supreme Court

The court will hear arguments about whether the testimony of five women should have been allowed at his sexual assault trial and whether a deal with a former district attorney was binding.

Published June 23, 2020
Updated Dec. 1, 2020
Pennsylvania’s highest court on Tuesday said it agreed to hear part of Bill Cosby’s appeal of his 2018 sexual assault conviction.

In December, a panel of three appellate judges unanimously rejected his appeal to the lower Superior Court, upholding his 2018 conviction in the drugging and sexual assault of Andrea Constand at his home outside Philadelphia in 2004.

But in January, his lawyers petitioned the Pennsylvania State Supreme Court to review that decision, highlighting several issues where they said the panel had erred in supporting the trial judge’s decision.

The state’s Supreme Court does not necessarily have to take up an appeal, and its justices typically grant few of them. It rejected some of the issues Mr. Cosby’s lawyer raised, but it said it would review the trial judge’s decision to allow testimony from five other accusers — women who, like Ms. Constand, said Mr. Cosby had drugged and sexually assaulted them”

Move it OUT of Minnesota or even to one of their conservative counties ‘Up North’ and you KNOW the verdict will be 180 degrees different.

JMHO. :)
