~The FReeper Canteen Presents~ Road Trip: Station Maui Coast Guard Base, Hawaii
USCG Station Maui is a boat station located at Maalaea Harbor on the South Shore of Maui, Hawaii. Home to a new Response Boat-Medium (RB-M) and one 25ft Defender Class Small Boat, Station Maui covers an Area of Responsibility extending over the waters surrounded by all four islands of Maui County (Maui, Molokai, Lanai, & Kaho'olawe) and includes Molokini Crater. The Station can also be called upon to respond to calls on the North shore of Hawaii, however most cases which occur on the Windward side of the island are executed by larger USCG assets.

The history of the Coast Guard presence on Maui is relatively short but distinguished. In 1964 the Coast Guard assigned the 95' Coast Guard Cutter CAPE ROSIER to patrol the waters of Maui County. In 1969 it was replaced by the cutter CAPE NEWAGEN and then in 1983 the cutter CAPE CORWIN came to service in Maui waters. In September of 1990 the CAPE CORWIN was decommissioned and Coast Guard STATION MAUI was established. The CAPE CORWIN was the last cutter to be stationed on the Valley Isle.
STATION MAUI operated two boats, CG246005 and CG25520, until the 24' RHIB was replaced by the Motor Life Boat (MLB) 47313 in 2007. With the assignment of the MLB to STATION MAUI, the operational area expanded from approximately 1,000 square miles bounded by the four islands of Maui County to the 7,000 square miles of all windward and leeward Maui County.
In 2010 the MLB was replaced by a new Response Boat-Medium (RB-M) 45613. This RB-M was augmented with a second RB-M, CG 45719 in 2013. Both RB-Ms and the Response Boat Small now provide Maui County waters with fast response capabilities for the demanding variety of Coast Guard missions on Maui.

Tie everything down good! Don't have tornadoes here.
Just snow here.
I spent 20 minutes in Hawaii. They did not have fuel ready for the plane so we got to get out on a deck and wait. Then on to Viet Nam.

Howdy, lauren.
II was just going to ask you if you’re having “fun” tonight with storms. I imagine you’re getting tired of all the “yeeha” by now.

OK...went almost to Cape Cod on the bike today as I have one student that far away. (about 40 miles)
The sky was crystal blue and 70 degree temp when I left the house.
Halfway there, the temp plunged to 50 and the skies clouded up. It was raw and cold, but thank goodness, no rain. Then I rode to my next student, and it was even colder and darker.
As soon as I finished with student #2, I boogied home as fast as my little wheels could carry me.
Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Howdy, Kathy.
Have you heard any of the activity around Anchorage today? The Lake Hood cam ops managed to catch a few of the military planes flying around the area.

May 4Fueled by Fire
If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to deliver us . . . . But even if he does not . . . we will not serve your gods.
Daniel 3:17–18When two firefighters, weary and sooty, stopped at a restaurant for breakfast, the waitress recognized the men from the news and realized they’d spent the night battling a warehouse fire. To show her appreciation, she wrote a note on their bill, “Your breakfast is on me today. Thank you . . . for serving others and for running into the places everyone else runs away from. . . . Fueled by fire and driven by courage, what an example you are.”
In the Old Testament, we see an example of courage in the actions of three young men: Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego (Daniel 3). Instead of obeying the mandate to bow down to a statue of the Babylonian king, these young men courageously showed their love for God through their refusal. Their penalty was to be thrown into a blazing furnace. Yet the men didn’t back down: “If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to deliver us from it, and he will deliver us from Your Majesty’s hand. But even if he does not . . . we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold” (vv. 17–18).
God did rescue them and even walked with them in the fire (vv. 25–27). In our fiery trials and troubles today, we too have the assurance that God is with us. He is able.
Reflect & Pray
When have you felt God’s presence during a difficult trial? What gives you confidence to press on when challenges come?
Almighty God, thank You for being with me in the fire and for comforting me with Your presence.

Hi radu, it was a very productive weekend at Robin's, we did accomplish what we had planned and more.
Next weekend is the fence tear down and replace, only 8 feet but a lot of chain sawing of overgrown bushes in the way, weather should cooperate too.
Son was over for dinner and hanging last night.
What's new your way?
