I’ll be honest and say that both of those stories sounded odd to me. My first thought on the border book story was that there would probably be fifty different ways to sue Kamala if this was true. The hamburger story looked like a deliberate exaggeration.

Perhaps it is "nonsense"...if so what is the truth of the matter in regard to Biden's proposal and the consumption of meat and the study and all. What was the reason beyond the "one hamburger" conclusion, and how was that reasoning wrong?
What good is just hearing "that is a lie" without us being told what the truth is? Is the truth about the subject important at all? Just saying "they are liars" without demonstrating it is useless, especially since CNN as a news source has a track record of demonstrated falsehoods.
Since Biden does in fact claim a goal of reducing greenhouse gasses by 50%, the whole issue here hinges on two factors. The first is what his plan specifies and what would be the result, intentional or not.
There are only two ways to reduce carbon emissions. One is by technological means that would allow existing activities to continue at the same level, or curtailing activities to reduce energy demand. Increased reliance on nuclear power generation, more fuel efficient modes of transportation, increased insulation to reduce heating and cooling, etc. are examples of the former. Rationing auto use and charging confiscatory tax rates over an allotted quota of miles driven per year, banning jet flights under say 300 miles are examples of the latter.
If technology cannot allow the goal to be met while maintaining the current levels of activities then those activities will have to be curtailed. It’s well known that the consumption of red meat is in the crosshairs of the eco freaks. It all depends on the meaning of “is.”
