Germany's highest court has sided with young activists in a landmark climate case, ruling on Thursday that some aspects of the country's climate protection legislation are unconstitutional because they place too much of a burden for reducing greenhouse gas emissions on younger generations.

I wonder if we could sue our US government for the borrowing and printing. They saddle future generations with our debt and reduce their value of money.

I trust the younger generations know what they are shackled with and how the debt will impact their lives? Is anyone telling them?

Yeah yeah. They demand climate activism but don’t want to pay for it. Typical Millenials. Worthless and lazy.

“EU leaders have agreed on a more ambitious goal for cutting greenhouse gases - reducing them by 55% by 2030, rather than 40%.”

Seems like the older Volk need to get busy.

“how the debt will impact their lives”

The national debt can be taken care of by a few freight cars full of paper.

It will be finding what you want buy that will be problematic.

If they just kill a bunch off, all go on unemployment and stay at home, stop traveling, stay cold in the winter and hot in the summer, they might be able to accomplish this! Hahaha

CO2 is the byproduct of human activity, in fact, it’s the byproduct of life et al.

The reason why a CO2 tax is such a great idea if you’re communist asshole government with a boot on the peoples neck, is because a CO2 tax is essentially a tax on everyone, even if all you do is breathe, eat, stay warm, or take a dump, you pay a tax for defecating.

A CO2 tax is akin to a poll tax: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poll_tax#:~:text=A%20poll%20tax%2C%20also%20known,times%20until%20the%2019th%20century and it is just as regressive - i.e. the “poor” and the “middle class” will take it in the pooper! Hahahaha

can’t improve infrastructure
can’t clean water
can’t clean air
can’t preserve the environment

because it might cost the ‘younger generations’ some bucks

but the old folks should pay anyway

alrighty then

It seems it is the current generation of voters are the ones demanding climate activism, yet also push out all the “hard” work to the next generation to endure. Lets reduce carbon emissions, but lets target 2040 for all the reductions. Same as lets give everyone 1400$ because covid or forgive student debt but instead of us paying for it now with taxes or prioritizing our spending, we borrow and have the next generation try to find a way to pay for it.
