Less than one day after President Biden proclaimed American workers would build the electric vehicles necessary to bring us into the zero admissions future, General Motors said it plans to invest more than $1 billion in Mexico to produce electric vehicles.
The automaker said Thursday it would make a $1 billion investment in its Ramos Arizpe production facility. The plant will begin producing at least one electric vehicle beginning in 2023, the company said.

I’ll walk before I’ll buy an EV. I’ll walk before I buy a car made in Mexico.
I have been saying from day one that Biden will sell OH, MI & In which are all auto-manufacturing states down the road as he lets cheap CCP EV’s in. The big three won’t be able to compete. He is the CCP’s prison-beeotch. They won’t do it until after the mid-terms or after 2024.
Ford transmissions for their F-150 trucks built in Mexico last about maybe a year, year and a half, before grinding to a halt.
Will GM still be too big to fail if they are in Mexico? Just asking cause I like to follow my government forced bailout investments.
Biden’s pledge: Make Mexico Great Again.
Mexico is owned by the illegal drug cartels which are criminals from central from central and South America who get a lot of the chemicals to make the narcotics from Red China. These illegal narcotics are rotting the brains of a lot of people here in our USA, many of whom end up on government benefits.
that didn’t take long...
And this is being heralded? Billions in investments and that giant jobs sucking sound, sheesh.
Trump used his bully pulpit to stop GM from doing this, but he’s no longer president and Biden is.
Honestly if it stopped illegals from coming here, I’d support it. Alas, it won’t make a dent.
Trump would agree, Make Mexico Great Again, Too!
It was horrifying. If you think about driving in an EV down the road and you have a couple kids belted in the back seat and all of a sudden your car bursts into flames, you would not have time in 30 seconds to pull the car over and get your kids out of the back seat - in 30 seconds.
No way am I buying one of those death traps. I will keep my 2004 Yukon and happily cubanize spare parts from junk yards.
“I’ll walk before I buy a car made in Mexico.”
Our southern amigos make many parts that are assembled into cars in the USA.
On a per capita basis, motor vehicle manufacturing jobs are more plentiful south of the border than north of the border.
If you visit Detroit, take a look around to see what happens when jobs are shipped out of the USA.
Yep! Screw em. This country has been spoiled. They didn’t appreciate a great president so let the suffering begin.
Yep, what’s going on here? GM is creating all these jobs in Mexico.

I dunno, I kinda like The Adobe, I especially like the custom contour seats, and the beverage-gripping dash.
I saw something the other day that said Detroit was revitalizing. Not interested enough to find out. But now I wonder if true.
More exported jobs. No, I won’t be buying a GM vehicle.
Mexico’s citizens are in the US so who’s gonna man the line there?
Intelligent business decision. Labor costs in Mexico are (I’m guessing) 1/2 of what they are in the U.S?
Of course, the opposing argument is, if American workers don’t have jobs, they won’t be able to afford the cars being made in Mexico.
