Biden Talks Tough On China; Beijing Says US Defense Budget Reflects “Sick Psychology”

President Joe Biden addressed a joint session of Congress in Washington on Wednesday evening. He made it a point that America and its allies must work closely together against competition from China.

Biden said President Xi Jinping is "deadly earnest on becoming the most significant, consequential nation in the world." The rhetoric from Biden last night is that his administration will continue pressuring China and maintain former President Tump's firm position on Beijing, including tariffs, sanctions, strong defense budget, and heightened military activity in the Pacific.

"We are in competition with China and other countries to win the 21st century," Biden said. "We are at a great inflection point in history. We have to do more than just build back better. … We have to compete more strenuously."

To keep up with China, Biden has ambitions to increase military spending above the past administration. For some context on current military spending, the Pentagon is already spending $740,000,000,000 this fiscal year, $2,000,000,000 every day, $1,000,000 every minute.

Under a Biden administration, U.S. military vessels and surveillance planes directed toward China have increased significantly.

Bloomberg quoted defense Ministry spokesman Senior Colonel Wu Qian at a press conference on Thursday in Beijing, saying activity by U.S. military ships was up 20% and by planes 40% in areas China claims since Biden took office January over the same period last year.

The U.S.' constant deployment of ships and planes to operate in seas and airspace near China has created a more hostile area. Wu also addressed the massive U.S. defense budget with a heavy focus on China, reflecting a "sick psychology."

Even during COVID-19, the U.S. military ramped up its military spending, outpacing much of the world.

A great power competition between the U.S. and China is evident. Biden continues pressuring China and ramping of military activity around the country with plans to increase defense budgets. Perhaps, the reason for this is that Taiwan's Foreign Ministry Joseph Wu recently warned that China is planning "for their final military assault against Taiwan."

While China sets its eyes on Taiwan, the U.S. is falling into Thucydides Trap, where it attempts to squash rising China.

Well we do spend a lot on useless wars and we treat our vets horrendously. Many of whom suffer long term trauma and devastating health consequences from exposure to toxic waste and chemicals in war zones, over-vaccination against things like anthrax, you name it.

The budget needs to be adjusted accordingly.

"We have to do more than just build back better" -- Xio Xiden

What? Build Back Better was the most sound universal strategy I've ever heard. Now we have to do more than that pablum?

I have a hard time believing Joe is confronting China in any way that’s productive.

THAT BIDEN WIN IS AN AWARD TO CHINA FOR INVADING US USING COVID 19
Here’s that compliment paid to the CCP by the Biden campaign for bringing in the virus which they admitted really helped fix it to get Biden elected http://freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3940857/posts

Every time an American looked at an item for where it was made in it came from China. Now China’s reliance making everything was being threatened by a change in leadership in America which was a major consumer of those products. When Americans hailed their leaders decision to make many of them in their country US. Their politburo worried.

Worse yet opponents to the Chinese regime in power had its citizens protesting its policies , as in Hong Kong, since that change in American leadership, wave the American flag and present Trump’s name when doing so.

All of which presented those in power the need to destroy that leader Donald Trump. In totalitarian political circles this strategy has been reported to be frequently considered

Would a runaway plague created by a nation which could threaten populations of an enemy cause them to react by demanding extreme restriction of movement by its population to prevent its spread ? Thus wind up fragmenting its economy and create defeat for that leader’s upcoming election.

When they released it that was the CCP intention but it got away from them and went world wide and they should be made to pay

According to the graph, China spends one-third as much as the US on defense.

However, China undoubtedly gets far more men and weapons out of each billion yuan spent on defense. Maybe three times as much, or more.

Th chart should be normalized for buying power of each countries currency.

On the other hand, in a slave state, it's different type of dynamic when motiviation comes from the barrel of a gun.

We have the Chinese beat hands down in the diversity race. Remember this is our strength. Also millions of Americans are aspiring rap artists while the Chinese take those sissified piano lessons, playing tunes written by dead white male supremacists. The Chinese own this administration. Biden has to look tough in order not to give the game away.

Of the two, the 2019 quote was more likely authentically Biden (even if he was clueless then, as well).

These days, POTATUS doesn't do a lot of deep thinking about geopolitics on his own.

China spends a lot more than 250 Billion. Their military aims are integrated with their efforts at political subversion. Biden saves them a fortune, as he will not oppose their aggression, either military, political, biological or cyber war. He just has to keep up appearances.

So, in a nutshell, we have the same problem from long ago. Hard work is too hard(scared to know how many people are collecting a monthly check to sit on the sofa after COVID).
Sokution 1 was slavery, after all, it worked and still does for Mohammed and his followers.
We became lazy while they grew stronger and were finally ablt to shake the slave trade.
Fast foward 175 years, same story, different region, Mexico.
Fast foward 120 year, great idea, lets sit at home and pay china to sweat and work long hard days.
It actually goes farther back.. Pharoah’s slaves grew strong and now we have Christian faith.
So it can be great.
Those who do not learn from history are repeating it.
People are shocked when i tell them i regularly work a Godly 6 day work week.. in addition to household work and work in church.
I actually had one person say, 6 days of work and 1 day of rest is not in the Methodist Bible.

China really does seem to be hurling the accusations like the true lefties they once were before they too the next step and locked down their whole country in a surveillance state. Its almost like they are throwing spaghetti at the wall to see what sticks.

Not how much money you spend, but the money spent on transforming the military into a woke social experiment, unlike China and many other countries.
