He didn't have to have an AG he could have operated with Temporary AGs if he had some people lined up that were actually honest.
Many of us here tried to criticize Trump for his lack of perception concerning Barr and Ray but we were shouted down. Trump was the greatest President in my lifetime but he made some really bad decisions with his staff and failed to recognize them as bad, in fact he praised Bob Barr on his last moments in office, hope he doesn't still think he was a good guy.

The fact is it didn’t matter who was AG. Without the support of his own party on his flanks nothing Trump’s AG did was going to be effective. The bureaucracy simply acted as if he was not POTUS nearly all the time.

If you are suggesting that seating republicans will solve it then I fully disagree. We tried that, they showed us who they were. They hated Trump because they hate us and hate what we care about. They lie to us and they especially hate that Trump made them show their true colors. They are happily standing by and letting the democrats turn the FBI into the Gestapo as long as it goes after conservatives.

He did operate with temporary acting appointments but they are time-limited in that capacity. But he tried and he did make progress using those options but 210 days or 7 months is not enough time to stack the deck against Swamp bad actors especially when certain factions of the federal senior service would stonewall and drag their feet.
Unfortunately, trying to fire, terminate, demote federal employees is like an effort to land on Mars. They have for generations insulated themselves and call each effort to to discipline them an attempt to ‘politicize’ government workers.
We need an overwhelming unity of Americans committed to taking back their government and passing laws to get rid of federal workforce intransigence. They can be disciplined through courts but it’s not easy and the lawyers that know terrain are mostly grooved into EEOC and Torts under FTCA. It can be done but it’s tortuous.

I believe all cabinet heads have to be approved initially by the Senate so the employment pool to pick from is limited which is why past administrations played switcheroo with the same familiar personalities so often. I believe temps. are good for 9 months.

The mistake Trump made during his 1st two years of his presidency is that he did nothing to stop the FBI from becoming a complete and utter swamp creature land..he could have ordered the feds to investigate Hillary Clinton, prosecute her, etc..instead he put in Wray, who makes Comey look like a genius..and Bill Barr who did absolutely nothing..now look at the feds, its 100 percent pure commie now, and its just starting with Rudy, its all about getting the copies of Hunter’s hard drive, once they do that they will go after anyone who ever worked for Trump and find a reason, any reason to lock them up
