Former DNC fundraiser was instrumental in luring Amazon to Virginia with lucrative tax incentives
The Washington Post, a news blog owned by Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, has issued a controversial endorsement in the Virginia governor's race, backing a white man over two qualified black women seeking the nomination.
The Post endorsed Terry McAuliffe, who was elected governor in 2014 despite having no political experience beyond raising money for Democrats. The Post, which also endorsed McAuliffe in 2014, explained its decision by noting that McAuliffe's rivals, including two black women serving in state government, are "relatively untested" and lack political experience.
Candidates Jennifer McClellan, state senator from Richmond, and Jennifer Carroll Foy, former state lawmaker, are each trying to make history and become the first black woman to serve as governor (of any state) in American history.
In 2017, when Amazon announced its search for a location to build a second North American headquarters. Then-governor McAuliffe was instrumental in persuading Amazon to select Arlington, Va.. The company was lured by tax incentives worth up to $750 billion.
The Post‘s endorsement does not mention the Amazon deal.

Terry “The Punk” McAuliffe is back.
He’s- a total scumbag. Perfect demoncrap
They must consider McAuliffe to be a more reliable commie.
He has faithfully served the cause for a long time now.
He belongs in prison. NORVA is a complete swamp. Give it to DC and leave the good Virginians alone.
McAwful. *chuckle* He was another Wolf or Cuomo in his four years. It was a beautiful state when I lived there, now it’s gone to the zombies.
Greezing each others hands ...
This could be a very interesting race. I’ll bet Critical Race Theory is being pedaled by all the Rat candidates. For the first time in my life, NOVA Asians might vote Republican this election to prevent the ‘dumbing down’ of the school system with CRT - time will tell.
Governor Blackface isn’t running again?
These people never, ever just go away.
I think Virginia has term limits, so that a governor can’t serve consecutive terms in office.
All the evidence we, the First Church of Public Opinion (Woke Reformed), need to convict Bezos on all counts!
Racist, misogynist...
Regards,
Typical hypocrisy would anyone expect anything else from these bastards??
Terry McAuliffe is the guy who promoted Jill McCabe, wife of FBI Russiagate’s Andrew McCabe, to run for office. The run failed but a lot of money was sent her way.
Andrew McCabe was involved in harassing a female FBI agent, Robyn Gritz, who was working on the case of missing retired FBI employee Levinson, who disappeared after showing up on Iran’s Kish Island. He was one of two hostages the Obama admin made no effort to get back while Obama was occupied with trying to transfer huge amounts of cash to Iran. Andrew McCabe shut down the effort to get Levinson back.
A person who stood up for Robyn Gritz was none other than General Michael Flynn.
McAuliffe pal McCabe is a known fibber...or as they say of lackeys they deign not to punish, he “lacks candor.”

A Tobacco-Based COVID-19 Vaccine? But I’ll confess that I didn’t anticipate hearing about tobacco companies entering the competition. And yet, here we are. The only ‘”backing” I want for Terry the Thug McAuliffe is that an Amazon truck would “back” over his sorry ass and make him a Rachel Corrie cookie on the highway of life.
