Today the National Rifle Association of America’s Institute for Legislative Action (NRA-ILA) and the Association of New Jersey Rifle & Pistol Clubs (ANJRPC) asked the Supreme Court to hear their challenge to New Jersey’s prohibition on magazines capable of accepting more than 10 rounds of ammunition.
This case comes to the Court from a sharply divided panel of the Third Circuit court of appeals.
This is the second time that the NRA-ILA has asked the high court to take a case in the last five months. In December, it asked the Court to review a challenge to New York’s restrictive process for issuing carry permits. The Court agreed to hear that case today.

It’s a risk. A couple of swing justices could go left and then it’s sudden mag restriction time.
Might as well put it in John and Amy’s hands, maybe win a little. Otherwise you lose everything.
It’ll be interesting to see whether SCOTUS has an appetite for this case. Honestly, I was pretty surprised they took the NY case. Not because they shouldn’t have taken it, but because they’ve passed up over a dozen cases they absolutely should have taken leading up to that.
I have no doubt there enough votes to solidly establish that Americans have every right to carry firearms outside the home. My only question is how far the court is willing to take that with the current justices. It’s a real shame President Trump didn’t get one or two more opportunities to appoint Supreme Court justices.
Magazine subscription!? When will it end!
In 2019 a federal judge put a temporary stay on California’s ban on the sale of larger capacity magazines. The stay was for two weeks while the two teams of lawyers prepared their briefs. During that two week period something like 10 million new large capacity magazines came into and were sold in the state. I may be exaggerating the number, but it was huge. In just two weeks. Every gun owner I know ran out to buy whatever they could. Even if it didn’t fit a gun they currently owned, they bought it anyway.
Thomas, Alito, Gorsuch, Barrett, and Kavanaugh are all pretty solid. Roberts is always a coin toss. The rest are useless.
Bring the cases. We will win.
magazine subscriptions never end.
we had over 100 different magazines arriving at our place (none of which we subscribed to, and the majority of which we’d never even heard of before)
have to admit a few (not many but a few yes) were very high quality publications.
anyway it took us a year but we finally got them all to stop sending. absent Heroic effort, however, magazine “subscriptions” (even when you do NOT subscribe) never end.
FYI. (the magazines sell ads based on the number of copies they distribute, just like most other kinds of junk mail)
The stores shipped every magazine in the country they had to California during that period.
And HERE is the label PMAG had on their box of D60 magazines shipped to California!

By the shape of that magazine I think you are trying to send me a subliminal message ;-)
Too bad my AR is 9mm. But it uses Glock pistol 9mm magazines. My .223 is a bolt action.
What am I missing? Those boxes are the standard D60 box, there’s nothing I can see that is specific to California during the very brief magazine limit injunction.
Who cares what the supreme court says on anything 2nd amendment related. It’s not up to them. The federal government has no authority to regulate any type of firearm in way whatsoever. The states are about to make this very clear and the supreme court knows it. Many states are moving to nullify federal gun laws across the board. Eventually one state will nullify all federal gun laws including the NFA and GCA then make it illegal for anyone, most importantly federal agents to attempt to enforce them. Once one state does this gun control is over for good. The people in that state will be free to own any type of firearm including most importantly machine guns and other arms illegally regulated by the federal government.
Don’t hold your breath for the supremes to do the right thing. They’re the ultimate Washington insiders and swamp dwellers. Lifetime appointment.
“It’ll be interesting to see whether SCOTUS has an appetite for this case.”
Hope so, magazine restrictions are a backdoor way of inhibiting our 2nd amendment firearms rights when banning firearms completely becomes difficult for elected officials to achieve. If they can’t ban firearms completely, just pass laws that reduce their effectiveness to the point where weapons eventually become useless. If unchecked, they won’t just stop at 10 rounds, one round limits could eventually be required for all firearms.
It looks as if Dmag is giving California the one fingered salute.

Hell, Biden is planning on it anyway. We have nothing to lose. If the SC voids the law, then any law the Rats may pass about magazine size restrictions will be void. If they go against the 2nd, then the DemoNazis are going to do what they were planning all along.
You’re exactly right, then semi-auto becomes a single shot. Incrementalism.
