Many of these state executives don’t believe that vaccine passports coming to their states through private business are a threat to liberty, and believe they have neither the authority to restrict businesses and institutions from enforcing mandates, nor the moral duty to protect students, machinists, camp guides, waiters, and the rest of us from business mandates.

There’s the dilemma facing anyone these days. Whose “liberty” is the author interested in protecting — the worker’s or the business owner’s? It seems that these two are in conflict, and the author doesn’t address this at all.

I’d also point out that business owners don’t impose these stupid vaccine mandates because they’re iron-fisted dictators. They impose them to cover their asses and protect themselves from lawsuits if/when their employees get sick. How many of the political leaders railing against vaccine mandates have stepped up and laid out a plan for shielding business owners from COVID-related lawsuits?

What we need, frankly, is a constitutional amendment rolling back notions of liability to what they were 50 or 60 years ago.

The Left complains about the special exemption given to gun makers from liability lawsuits. But in fact, no manufacturer of anything should ever be held liable for the illegal use of their product.

Similarly in this case, the presence or absence of any infectious disease (unless it's a medical facility) is outside the purview of any employer and so outside their liability and only the government should be able to issue mandates like this with explicit limitations even on that power.

Sounds like you’re all about forcing folks to take something they don’t want.

One of the reasons these companies are doing what they’re doing is because they’ve been allowed to hold the upper hand.

Do what we tell you or we’ll move.

I’m sure in Texas, real Texans would love to see a Trail Of Liberal Tears moving out and heading back to California or New York. Taking all those Democrat voters with them

Good question. I am a business owner but will not mandate a vaccine for anyone. I in fact fully support the employee/former employee filing suit for wrongful termination if forced to choose the job over the vaccine. It’s not the employers place to tell a person what to inject in their body. The pharma industry may be shielded from lawsuits but at this time private employers are not. As for universities, pull any state or federal funding for any institution mandating a vaccine to attend. Those students to that aren’t brainwashed should also file a suit.

Screw the fascists, I’m tired of the government and overbearing employers telling us what we can and cannot do. What happened to the my body my choice crowd? They should be up in arms over any mandates.
