Shocking new video shows two Colorado cops under investigation for their violent arrest of an elderly women with dementia laughing and cheering - and giving each other a fist bump - as they watched body-camera footage of the altercation hours later.
They were celebrating all while the 73-year-old woman was suffering in a jail cell, the photos reveal - disheveled and seeming to lose consciousness several times.
Loveland Police Officers Austin Hopp and Daria Jalali arrested Karen Garner on June 26, 2020, after she left Walmart without paying for a candy bar, a can of Pepsi and a t-shirt totaling $13.38.
City officials haven't apologized to the woman or her family, according to the Loveland Reporter-Herald. The footage of the arrest went viral on social media after its release earlier the month in the wake of a new lawsuit against the department.
The suit says during the first hour Garner was in custody, she said: 'They hurt my shoulders' 22 times and 'They hurt my wrists' 13 times. She wasn't given any medical treatment.
A statement from the attorney representing Garner in a federal civil rights lawsuit against the department said supervising officer, Sgt. Phil Metzler, who also is under investigation, knew Garner was injured and allowed her to be kept in a holding pen with no care.

If some goon with a badge did that to a loved one of mine, I would be hard pressed not to go medieval on their ass.
So they're not sorry for arresting her for shoplifting.
Free cokes and candy bars for everyone!
Just grab what you want, right?
Do your "loved ones" often rip off cokes and candy bars?
I generally support the police. Even go out of my way to tell them when I encounter one on patrol. That even happened today. But I despise bad police. If this story is true (didn’t watch the video yet), those cops should be fired and charged with elder abuse amongst other crimes. JMHO of course.
She has dementia. Sheesh.
Instant dismissal, not just slap on the wrist disciplinary action. Out on their backsides, subject to civil suits.
Police are merely unionized government employees.
If you love your government you’ll love your police
Hope your dementia isn’t as ‘interesting’........
Same standards for an old, frail, feeble-minded lady as an eighteen year old punk? O.K., I get it.
BTW if a cop cannot take down a tiny defenseless weak elderly woman without using what appears to be excessive force, he does not deserve to be a cop.
So do Joe Biden and most of the Qtards.
They're all good too, because they're demented?
The settlement will be 100,000 times the value of the stolen items. LEO have a duty to provide medical assistance.
One story I heard related by a retired BSO officer was that BSO and PBCS would find bodies regularly in a canal between jurisdictions. He said depending on who showed up they would throw rocks at the corpse to make it float to the other side so they wouldn’t have to deal with it, then laugh about it later.
Not all cops are sociopaths, but a significant % seem to be.
Gosh I sure wouldn’t wish a case of dementia on you.
Check that, I would.

After all the “racist cops” prosecutions, and the end of qualified immunity is ended, these will be the cops that are left.
Enjoy!!!
The “driving out the neanderthals” that started in the 70s, meant to replace white male cops with women and minorities, led to a drop in standards, that has put us where we are today, and drove many good people from wanting to be cops in the first place.
The source is Daily Mail or I will wait for the rest of the story.
