People in India are dying in the streets amid a catastrophic surge of COVID-19 infections — prompting an oxygen shortage and mass cremations to deal with the overwhelming amount of bodies.
“The virus is swallowing our city’s people like a monster,” said Mamtesh Sharma, an official at the Bhadbhada Vishram Ghat crematorium in Bhopal.
Sharma said the unprecedented crush of bodies has forced them to skip individual ceremonies and rituals that are Hindu traditions.

When this all started I thought, if India gets this thing, katy bar the door, it’s probably fortunate for the rest of the world, that at least they got it on the back-end, instead of the front-end.
I have said all along that there was not just 1 virus virus that materialized out of thin air at the market which happened to be next to a biolab where they studied things like this, there were many.

Is it possible it could be the African variant that has shown to be 8 times more likey to breakthru a vaccinated person vs a person who contracted COVID naturally and recovered? Which would lend credence to the spike after mass inoculation as shown in the chart on this thread. India is not too far from Africa.

I have been reading some blogs from Indians in the US talking to their relatives in India. It very very bad. I have seen the pics they are posting of people stacked up like cordwood.

There are probably a dozen or so incorrectly assigned deaths across the US. Out of ~586,000 COVID-19 deaths.
Now look at March 2020 when there were no COVID-19 tests available and there was a sudden unexplained spike in heart disease and dementia deaths in the New York City area. A spike which instantly vanished when COVID-19 tests became available.
Throughout 2020, deaths from cancer and heart disease (along with pretty much every other normal cause of death) were at or slightly above normal levels. Yet the TOTAL deaths in 2020 rose by over 17% in the US. A normal year-over-year increase is 0.3% - 0.7%. But in 2020, we had over 530,000 extra deaths. During a pandemic. In which millions of doctors and nurses around the country reported losing scores of patients to the new disease.
It takes some real Olympic level mental gymnastics to explain why those two things are unrelated and where those half million new deaths came from.

What happened was a perfect confluence of three things:
1) The world’s largest religious festival that served as a super-spreader event
2) Large political rallies (and India knows how to do ‘large’)
3) A healthcare system that simply couldn’t cope with a sudden influx of many sick people needing urgent attention.
As for how much of what you see is true, the irony is that it is NOT. The truth is far worse than what you’re seeing. Like the Chinese government, the Indian government is trying to suppress real numbers. Unlike China though, India is not able to pull the same dacronian moves and thus information is coming out.
It’s a nightmare over there. Not politics, no Democrats or Republicans there. Just people trying to survive in a healthcare system that has burst its seams.

India has over FOUR TIMES the population of the USA and about about ONE THIRD the number of deaths attributed to the china virus compared to the USA.

HCQ doesn’t work. It appeared promising at first, but we now know - conclusively - that it’s useless with COVID-19. Same with Remdesivir. Mostly the same with Ivermectin (appears potentially useful at reducing hospitalization rates if given well before the case escalates, but useless once somebody is very ill). The only thing that’s worked well is the treatment President Trump got: monoclonal antibody therapy. And that’s not a perfect cure-all by any stretch. It’s also way too expensive for nearly all Indians.
