A Michigan state lawmaker being busted for driving drunk — in a car with “ELECTED” vanity plates — told cops that arresting him would not “be good,” since he controls the department’s budget, a police report shows.
Rep. Jewell Jones (D-Inkster) told Michigan state

Possession of a weapon, resisting arrest, drunk driving - maximum 2 years? I thought liberal mecca's were tough on gun crimes.
I remember when another black Michigan Demoncrat was touted as the next Martin Luther King. Kwame Kilpatrick was serving 28 years for various corruption charges until DJT commuted his sentence.
I was in the mortgage banking industry and was at the MBA convention when they asked him to be an honored speaker. (barf)
I think the pervasiveness of body camera footage is ultimately going to be bad for entitled politicians... Of course that only holds true so long as there’s a media outlet willing to publish body cam footage when it’s of the public interest, not just when it’s politically convenient.
He looks like Beetlejuice from the Howard Stern show
He certainly is a jewell...typical sleezy elected politician.....this is the guy that in a central America 3rd world country would ultimately be named a “General” and become quite wealthy. After thought......maybe in Michigan as well.

His district Inkster is a long row of boarded up former retail and office buildings interspersed with squad cars with lights on and officers handcuffing people. I have driven through Inkster on Michigan Avenue (close to Dearborn) and have seen this first hand.
So how much (like Pelosi and Waters) has he done for the downtrodden people of his district? Zilch.
Side note. Henry Ford helped found Inkster as a place for black workers employed in his large Ford Motor Company empire of plants, while whites could live in Dearborn. A history book said he liked Inkster and he took a personal interest in keeping Inkster doing well and being a place of opportunities up until his death on April 7, 1947.
Lawmaker is such a weird occupational title.
“I run y’all budget, bro,”
Way to elect this scholar, voters.
“Do you know who I am?, you little piss-ant”
Cop will need to be taught that even minor-league peerage is above the law(s) that control the rest of us.
And NO! This is not sarcasm.
A man named Jewell must have an even bigger chip on his shoulder than one named Sue.
Yo, bro! Look like you gained about 30# since yo 2019 pic!
That be a lotta malt liquor!
Kwame Kilpatrick...
We need to ban this dangerous drug.
That was the premise of a Hill Street Blues episode back in the 80s, I think. The street cops arrested the chairman of the law enforcement budget committee for DWI, and he went with the “Do you know who I am” routine.
