Fossil fuels is a trillion dollar business. Those subsidies are tax write-offs and payments to oil companies to keep oil production domestically and not sold off to foreigners.

The amount of the so-called subsidy is about $11 billion/year, which is around 1% of the the revenue that oil generates.

It is a nothing amount.

As I understand it, and I will be glad to be corrected if I am wrong, but no taxpayer money is given to oil companies in the form of subsidies. What they get is tax breaks and deferrals.

I'll try to answer my own question: Because she is a globalist prop intended to represent the voice of the young, the voice of the future, the voice of those most likely to be harmed by climate change, the voice of the international community, and because she is female.

And because she is young and female, it is forbidden to criticize her unless you want to be called a mean sexist picking on a child. As usual, the left plays it both ways: she is an inexperienced know-nothing trotted out as an expert, but you are not allowed to disagree with her.
