Thanks for the information. I do know it is highly addictive, so it certainly is high enough. Didn’t mean to imply that it wasn’t.

Hope you’ve beaten it.

Years ago they came up with nicotine light cigarettes. I’ve heard smokers attest to the fact they simply smoked more.

Reduce fat, salt, calorie content in fast food. Fat ass diabetics, obese, hypertension, slobs need more protection. Fat lazy, type 2 diabetics ... need to be forced to run to get their breakfast lunch and dinner of salad, kale and rice cakes. When that happens call me. Fat asses above a BMI 25 need to just shoot them self’s in the head and leave everyone else alone.

Don’t get me on the druggies, fags, vegans, big assed/thigh women With gobbler chins ... Or those collecting their free $ via SS/MCacre/Medicaid need to STFU. All of them impact society much more than smokers. Smokers die quick, younger and at less cost. All while paying sales tax on the tobacco tax.

God bless smokers. The most abused group doing the least damage and paying more than their fare share.

Admit it, I pissed most of you off but I am right.

Where a mask while smoking.

And no one would think to smoke two packs instead of one.... Or golly... Could it be to drive up sales and collect more tax dollars?

NAH

“But what in the heck is a fire retardant put in cigarettes for?”

Supposedly people were being burned alive because they would drift off to sleep while smoking. Lit cigarette would fall into the carpet or bed coverings and start a house fire. Supposedly thousands were killed each year.
The fire retardant was to fight this supposed scourge.
In my damned near 70 years on this earth I’ve never known one person to die in this way.
YMMV.

I grow, cure, and cut my own tobacco leaf.

The only costs I have are the papers to roll my smokes.

If they out law the papers, I still have about 6 or 7 pipes I have had for many years.

Didn’t piss me off!

I see more 40 year old fatasses in the HC parking spots with a cane or walker than I do 70 year old smokers (like me) in those spots.

Weighed 180 when I was 20 years old, weigh 175 now, been smoking since I was 11 years old.

I don’t intend to piss you off. I agree with you. If we let the nanny state put their foot/ feet further in the door, we all lose. My comment was to go to the extreme on purpose to emote a response. So many cheering for government control over X will not be happy when the government controls a-z.

Personal responsibility also means personal impacts for bad decisions. The government is never the answer.

I am amazed at how many people are “handicapped” these days.

Just the tactile part of having an object like than in your hand/mouth has to get ingrained into you to the point you want it there when you’re relaxing.

Amen to that! Thank heaven for Chantix! I did not even try to quit I just took Chantix daily and gradually all desire (need I guess) to smoke was gone.

After several months I was smoking 3 or 4 cigarettes per day. 2 with morning coffee and 1 driving each way to work. Coffee was a flavor thing and getting in the truck was a ritual.

After meals was NP because I didn't smoke in the house which made it easier. I didn't "need" to smoke. It was just my two of my biggest triggers. Drinking beer would send me into a smoking frenzy.

My scrip was about to run out so I picked a 3 day weekend, ran out of cigs and did not leave the house for any reason. I knew that if I went anywhere I would buy some smokes.

Since that time I am smoke free. It doesn't bother me to be around smokers except for the damn stink! Did I smell like that or are my senses heightened?

I dreamed I was smoking regularly for several years ans still do now and then. I love cigars but I will never smoke another one. The fear is too great.

I’m glad all that worked for you. Thanks for telling me how
you managed to do it.

I was raised with a strong religious temperance theme, and I
wasn’t as driven to try smoking as others. I did try it in
high school, and it took 30 days of very minimal smoking to
convince me it wasn’t for me.

Even at one or two cigarettes per day, I was losing sense of
taste. My mouth tasted like trash.

I grew up with my grandparents. Every once in a while I
would visit my mother and step dad. They were chain smokers
and he liked Camels cigarettes, no filter. He rolled his own
too.

We would be traveling in a car, and they would smoke like
fiends. LOL To be honest, I don’t remember being offended
by it at all. They would take me with them to AA meetings.

In those meetings everyone was chain smoking. In a fifteen
by fifteen foot room, there would develop a 4-6 inch layer of
smoke about 3.5 feet off the floor. That layer was thick to
being somewhat opaque with smoke.

I can’t recall it ever bothering me. That’s just the way
it was. I don’t recall ever being angry about it, or thinking
it was unfair.

Today, I can detect cigarette smoke from 50 feet. It isn’t
offensive to me, but it does stink terribly.

There are pipe tobaccos, specifically cherry, that smell so
good, I have thought of buying a pouch to leave on the end
table. I probably never will.

In my grandparents old folks home, they had one guy whose
nose had been struck with cancer. It probably started back
in the throat. His nose had been removed. He was a pipe
smoker.

None of the tobacco products are safe, and there was a big
fad at one time for guys playing ball to chew. It didn’t take
off all that much, but I’d run into guys who did.

Oral cancers are a problem for that crowd also.

Glad you made it out. Good for you.

Take care...
