The former employee who shot and killed eight people at a FedEx facility in Indianapolis was interviewed by FBI agents last year, after his mother called police to say that her son might commit “suicide by cop,” the bureau said Friday.
Coroners released the names of the victims late Friday, a little less than 24 hours after the latest mass shooting to rock the U.S. Four of them were members of Indianapolis' Sikh community. The attack was another blow to the Asian American community a month after six people of Asian descent were killed in a mass shooting in the Atlanta area and amid ongoing attacks against Asian Americans during the coronavirus pandemic.
The Marion County Coroner's office identified the dead as Matthew R. Alexander, 32; Samaria Blackwell, 19; Amarjeet Johal, 66; Jaswinder Kaur, 64; Jaswinder Singh, 68; Amarjit Sekhon, 48; Karli Smith, 19; and John Weisert, 74.
The shooter was identified as Brandon Scott Hole, 19, of Indianapolis, Deputy Police Chief Craig McCartt told a news conference. Investigators searched a home in Indianapolis associated with Hole and seized evidence, including desktop computers and other electronic media, McCartt said.
Hole began firing randomly at people in the parking lot of the FedEx facility late Thursday, killing four, before entering the building, fatally shooting four more people and then turning the gun on himself, McCartt said. He said he did not know if Hole owned the gun legally.
“There was no confrontation with anyone that was there,” he said. “There was no disturbance, there was no argument. He just appeared to randomly start shooting.”
McCartt said the slayings took place in a matter of minutes, and that there were at least 100 people in the facility at the time. Many were changing shifts or were on their dinner break .

I don’t understand why it is federal responsibility to react to a potential suicide case. That should be a matter for local police and mental health authorities. Is there more to it than being reported?

The FBI supposedly has very well paid “experts” whose sole mission in life is to profile. If this jerk didn’t fit a profile I don’t know what does! Then of course the question becomes what do you do about it? Apparently the FBI’s answer is to say after the deed is done that “we told you so”!

The FBI is very busy persecuting the Jan 6 MAGA people for trespassing. They can’t be bothered when they’re been warned about a mass shooter. Funny. The FBI also missed a direct tip ahead of time on the Parkland Fl shooter... and the Boston Marathon Bombers... and the San Bernardino shooter... and the Pulse Nightclub Shooter. I’m sure this is all just because the FBI was busy with more important things.
Why, it's almost as if they're grooming and encouraging them to go shoot.
Then there is zero point for having any intelligence on potentiial criminal activity. Nobody knows their kid better than a mother and this puke’s mother tried to warn law enforcement. At the least he should have been a candidate for no guns pending a psych eval.

One cynical comment might include the notion that the agency keeps list for later mis-use.
Any pictures of the shooter or his social media. This guy had mental problems. Did he target Asians or is this what the media wants.
It's a wonder the incel didn't start his spree with killing his mother first.
