As mask mandates end, Oregon bucks trend with permanent rule

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — As states around the country lift COVID-19 restrictions, Oregon is poised to go the opposite direction — and many residents are fuming about it.

A top health official is considering indefinitely extending rules requiring masks and social distancing in all businesses in the state.

The proposal would keep the rules in place until they are “no longer necessary to address the effects of the pandemic in the workplace.”

Michael Wood, administrator of the state’s department of Occupational Safety and Health, said the move is necessary to address a technicality in state law that requires a “permanent” rule to keep current restrictions from expiring.

Well, Portland is antifa whose faces have been hidden behind masks years prior to the Kung-flu. just rubbing taxpayers noses in it.... affirmative action city workers who ascended to city council who now have a mindset of being an elitist. Pedophiles and black racists are the darlings of Portland Oregon and I know because I’ve lived there 10 years concluding in 2017.

The Oregon state government is out of control and detrimental to the health of the population.

January 2021

“Facemasks in the COVID-19 era: A health hypothesis”

“...Conclusion

The existing scientific evidences challenge the safety and efficacy of wearing facemask as preventive intervention for COVID-19. The data suggest that both medical and non-medical facemasks are ineffective to block human-to-human transmission of viral and infectious disease such SARS-CoV-2 and COVID-19, supporting against the usage of facemasks. Wearing facemasks has been demonstrated to have substantial adverse physiological and psychological effects. These include hypoxia, hypercapnia, shortness of breath, increased acidity and toxicity, activation of fear and stress response, rise in stress hormones, immunosuppression, fatigue, headaches, decline in cognitive performance, predisposition for viral and infectious illnesses, chronic stress, anxiety and depression. Long-term consequences of wearing facemask can cause health deterioration, developing and progression of chronic diseases and premature death. Governments, policy makers and health organizations should utilize proper and scientific evidence-based approach with respect to wearing facemasks, when the latter is considered as preventive intervention for public health.”

Our county insists on extending masks. I will no longer patronize businesses after April that require masks. We are a constitutional carry state. That means you can carry into a store that has a no gun policy and if they see your gun they can ask you to leave. No problem. No cops. Unless you refuse to leave. I will approach the mask policy the same way. I spend about a grand a month at my grocery store. If they don’t want my patronage, I will take it elsewhere. I am also the Patriarch of two other families that probably spend more than me. (Patriarch just means they acknowledge my existence and don’t fall asleep when I talk)

Let’s get a proposition on the ballot to make all facemasks optional, except for govt employees, for them it’s mandatory.

Officials said they have every intent to repeal the rule, and that decision will be made based on a complex mix of factors, including case counts, vaccination rates, case severity and advice from the Oregon Health Authority.

No sane person should trust them. They say trust the science and a year later STILL can't give any specifics (i.e. cases, vaccine percentage, etc.) as to when it would end, just shut up and do as we say.

FL isn’t big enough to hold us all.

We need another state.

Thinking we should band together and purchase property somewhere....
