Coca-Cola says it's 'time to find common ground' on voting measures after pressure from the Right
Washington Examiner ^ | 04/17/2021 | Zachary Halaschak

Coca-Cola, whose CEO denounced the Georgia voting bill, is now striking a conciliatory tone after coming under pressure from conservatives.

The soda giant, which is based in Atlanta, was absent from a list of more than 500 corporations and individuals that signed a statement condemning any election legislation that would “restrict” voters from having “an equal and fair opportunity to cast a ballot.” The missive was placed as a two-page Wednesday ad in the New York Times and Washington Post, with the effort being organized by the Black Economic Alliance.

Coca-Cola said in a statement to the Washington Examiner on Wednesday that the company “had not seen the letter” initiated by the alliance but is “certainly open to hearing their perspective." It said it has supported the right to vote and that it will assess how to support voting rights.

“We believe the best way to make progress now is for everyone to come together to listen, respectfully share concerns and collaborate on a path forward. We remain open to productive conversations with advocacy groups and lawmakers who may have differing views," the company said. "It’s time to find common ground. In the end, we all want the same thing – free and fair elections, the cornerstone of our democracy.”

Coca-Cola’s Wednesday remarks are notably less confrontational than its previous statements on the Georgia voting law.

Who the hell is coca cola to talk about common ground? Common ground between new coke and coke?

Never liked Coke and don’t drink soda any more, but I did like flying on Delta. Not using Delta will be a bother.

Remember the inevitable consequences portrayed in Saving Private Ryan... when they gullibly chose to let the surrounded German soldier go free?

We will drink ice tea from here on out. Never coke in our life time. Pepsi is yucky. Only drink like 3 soda pops a year anyway.

“It’s time to find common ground,” means our bottom line is suffering which could cause me to lose my job. They were “coming under pressure from conservatives.” They don’t care about conservatives. They claim the company “had not seen the letter.” Why do people tell obvious lies? Of course they saw the letter. However, they did make an unequivocally courageous statement, they “said it has supported the right to vote.” What courage!

I wonder if Coca Cola knows where the sun don’t shine?

“Common Ground” could begin with an apology and then telling the truth. That is not what the Coca-Cola leadership did. They engaged in knee-jerk reaction to satisfy the left wing mob and spreading misinformation about the Georgia law.

Easy boycott for me-I never drank Coke or any other sodas-that stuff is just part of the basic Obesity-and-Type II-Diabetes starter kit-just boycott Woke Coke and drink tea, water flavored with lemon, lime etc...

With so many people becoming health-conscious, eating organic, losing weight, etc I’m surprised Coke even showed their woke ass like that-hope they lose a huge market share to the healthy beverage companies...

I find that, when you talk nicely to a liberal, they think you are manipulatable to their will.

They are shocked when my language is very clear that I am not talking nice to them. Then they tell me that I’m so uncivil.
