Why Is the Biden Administration Still Seizing Land for a Border Wall if He's Not Going to Build It?

The Biden administration is still seizing land along the U.S. southern border for Donald Trump’s border wall despite announcing that he was not going to finish it.

The administration insists they’re in the midst of a “review of federal resources to build the wall” and are allowing Trump-era court cases to proceed, including land seizure cases. That review was supposed to be concluded 60 days after Biden’s inauguration — March 20. The president made the announcement of the wall cancellation with great fanfare and publicity. And yet land has continued to be seized.

“I’m … very, very disappointed in Joe Biden. I thought he was a man of his word but apparently, he’s not keeping his word,” Reynaldo “Rey” Anzaldua Cavazos, a member of the family whose land was taken, told Politico. “He said not one more foot of wall and no land forfeitures. We took him at his word and we want him to keep his word.”

Despite Biden’s promise to quickly reverse Trump’s immigration policies, he has yet to act on many of them — from failing to increase the cap on refugees to rescinding a ban on most migrants at the southern border. But fewer issues carry as much symbolic weight as the border wall. And his actions there threaten to further complicate his pledge to offer a kinder, gentler immigration system where everyone is welcome.

“They can have all the excuses they want but it’s real dicey to look at what they’re doing right now,” said a person who consults with the White House on immigration policy who has grown frustrated. “It’s a lot of stuff Trump was doing.”

Probably building it to keep people in. That’s what happens in all totalitarian states.

The state of Texas does not have enough money to make a second wall the entire length of the state border. It just doesn’t. And if they just made a parallel barrier in the areas unbuilt, the Federal reservation means they can’t connect it to the Trump wall, making it kind of pointless.

Federal government needs land in every state for gulags and execution grounds.

For a wall to stop us from escaping.

Texas has enough money to build a wall, there is no will because those at the top are more than willing to crush the Americans below them with massive Illegal immigration for fun and profit.

No, we don’t. Not one with the required features, not unless we impose a state income tax. That’s not happening.

Actually, we don’t - or more specifically, we just *barely* have the money for some sort of barrier, not the full 30’ kind, but we don’t have the money for the eminent domain, especially through the towns and cities. Remember, 1/8th mile back from the border is going to go through an awful lot of houses and such in towns and cities.

So they can condemn it as a permanent unprotected border opening that not even a landowner can patrol.

Texas has a border that's 1,254 miles long and 29 million citizens. That works out to 23,136 Texans per mile or 4.4 Texans per foot, or less that 3" for every Texan. I think they can afford it.

The criminals running Texas are happy keeping their social spending slush funds and not doing what is necessary to protect Texans.

As far as why you think it is too expensive for Texas build their own wall I can only guess you have a shirtless George W Bush poster in your bedroom somewhere.

To each his own. Ugh..

Uh huh. Go look at the price per foot of barrier, then go look at what the eminent domain through several border towns and cities will cost.

The price per foot of the barrier would not have to be nearly that of the federal contracting boondogles barrier. You make the mistake of factoring in massive graft like it is normal. A decent border wall shouldn't cost much more than a highway. I grew up in a mining town and I have seen whole mountains disappear and appear over a summer and it didn't take $ billions to do it if you use earth and concrete.

And yet you continue to ignore the cost of eminent domain through cities.

Get a clue. When you house is on fire you don't count the pennies you pay for water.

I will never convince you because you obviously like an open border and you will continue to throw up costs while ignoring the other costs like your sky-high Texas property tax to educate millions of illegal alien children.

Go donate to the GOP or the Democrats you obviously agree with them.

Here is a poem for you since you seem to like them:

Our government opens the gates on the sly,
Flooding our cities and schools with no word why,

Happily they raise taxes to close the border,
“Don't worry.” they promise, “The fence is on order!”,

They must take care of the invaders of course,
The American citizen is then yoked like a draft horse,

Americans cannot afford to send their kids to university,
Their stolen taxes fund college's foreign diversity,

The American pays to be replaced, attacked and hated,
All for saying “The New World Order is overrated!”

So they can designate it an Endangered Species Habitat or National Heritage Site or Sacred Indian Burial Ground. Anything to make it impossible to ever protect the nation.
