WASHINGTON — The Justice Department on Friday sued Roger Stone, a longtime ally of former President Donald Trump, accusing Stone and his wife, Nydia, of owing nearly $2 million in unpaid federal income taxes and fees.
The lawsuit, filed in federal court in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, says the couple underpaid their income taxes by $1,590,361 from 2007 to 2011. It further says Stone, 68, did not pay his full tax bill in 2018, coming up $407,036 short. The couple, the suit alleges, used a commercial entity to "shield their personal income from enforced collection and fund a lavish lifestyle despite owing nearly $2 million in unpaid taxes, interest and penalties."
A lawyer who has represented Stone in the past did not immediately respond to a request for his response.

There will be many more like this. I expect most people with links to Trump will be tied up in the courts for years to come.
Even if the government lose all the cases, it will still leave the victims broke and exhausted.

Sharpton dismissed the Times’ article as “misleading and totally out of context” during a 2014 news conference, and said he paid his taxes on a quarterly basis, according to Reuters.
The New York Post reported in 2019 that Sharpton retired his personal state tax debt, yet still owed nearly $700,000 in back taxes for three of his companies.
The IRS established over $2.8 million in liens against Sharpton from 1995-2010, according to the New York City Office of the City Register. The records indicate Sharpton has paid off over $2.1 million.
USA TODAY confirmed two tax warrants for $492,612.41 and $103,156.06 filed for Alfred Sharpton were satisfied on May 9, 2018, and June 5, 2019, respectively, according to the Tax Warrant Notice System for the State of New York.
