Ping.
An armed society is a polite society.
Imagine if every single citizen was armed....
.....which spurs thoughts of a means to arm every citizen with a non-lethal device capable of immobilizing a criminal or attacker. Crime might disappear.
So just a back round check and if you pass you walk out with the pistol with no questions asked by seller and no reason given by the purchaser?
Basically. If you can legally own a gun you would be able to carry it. If not, nothing changes.
You can already do that in your car and there’s been no problems since they made that legal.
The only reason to be against this is to be against CCWs at all. All the ‘wild west’ talk.
Everyone contact your State Senators!
My state representative, Brooks Landgraf, was one of the co-authors of the bill. He is a good representative for TEXAS and TEXANS of West Texas! β€οΈπ
Yeah, I was really upset when we moved to Houston. On Guam I had a CC permit even though I never used it; because, where do you conceal a weapon if you’re wearing swimming trunks and t-shirt? Texas did not offer reciprocity with Guam, even though Guam did with Texas.

Despite its reputation, Texas is not a particularly good state for gun laws or defense in general. Hopefully that is changing.
If this passes, the next thing I’d like to see them work on is invalidating all federal laws within the state.
thanks.
I just moved to San Antonio year before last (from Washington state), and glad as heck to be back South. This is just icing on the cake. Can a more “experienced” Texan prognosticate as to fate of the legislation in the Texas Senate?
Great news! Thanks for the ping.
I’m interested to see how this bill will fare in the TX Senate. I’m going to be calling my State Senator to encourage him to get on board.
I’m pretty sure Abbott will sign it. He’s in dire straights over the freeze still.
The Senate is iffy I think. It’s never even gotten to them before I don’t think.
I hope he does. Our state is being over run with illegals.
Would you be surprised if the governor vetoed it?
I wouldnt. He has shown himself to be an idiot.
Yes, it IS good news! Now, let’s see if the TX Senate will pass it and IF Abbott will show some real intestinal fortitude and approve it!
