What do you expect from the state that elected Romney for a Senator?

He’s right that they can do what they want with their money. And I can make sure that none of mine enriches the Jazz.

Freedom works every way, yes.
But on the other hand, what would the Utah governor have said if some private outfit was going to give scholarships to only “white” kids. Would the governor defend it the way he defended the Utah Jazz?

It isn’t “racist,” it is anti-white. “Racist” has a meaning/definition given to it by the Leftists who came up with the concept.
Want to see Spencer Cox stutter, sputter, and quite possibly crap his Mormon underwear? As him if the policy is anti-white.

Ah, governor, so if a Utah-based corporation were to create a scholarship that was open only to those of European descent, you’d be OK with that? And more importantly the courts would be OK with that? Don’t be absurd. That ship sailed a half century ago.

Cox is just another dirt bag RINO like the last governor. He was gushing over the fact that an invader who was holed up in a “church” for the last two years to avoid deportation can now walk free. A “refugee” lover who is probably actively importing the recent invaders.

Playboy .....which was super super pro Jazz....via Hefner
Ran a story I think late 70s or early 80s
The Debra Jo Fondren era
About a group of white New Orleans orphans and street kids who they credited with early jazz.....Dixieland ....rising from ragtime piano and second line street brass
Plasmatic band or something like that ...no Lennon jokes please
Now wouldn’t that throw a wrench in the racial claims ...

Wrong answer, Guv.
A better answer would be:
"Of course the policy is racist, but the Jazz can do whatever it wants with its money.
. . . And the people of Utah can do whatever they want with theirs."
Why would they want to support a racist organization?
I believe there are few Black people in Utah (compared to other states). They elected two of them to Congress as Conservative Republicans.
Maybe the governor should consult with Burgess Owens (a Black Republican congressman from Utah). He (the guv) might learn something.

Racism like this is not the answer to racsim. It is just.more racism. Exactly! When I discuss Affirmative Action with someone I point out that you can't end discrimination by discriminating.

Like several other states where Republicans are firmly embedded, the GOP party machinery in Utah is RINO-dominated. Why do states like Wyoming, Utah, and Alaska send to Congress people like Liz Cheney, Mitt Romney, and Lisa Murkowski? Because the moderate wing controls the primary process and after their wimp wins, they harangue conservatives with the message that their RINO is better than the Democratic alternative. At least in Alaska, it looks like Senator Murkowski is in deep enough trouble that she has not declared is she will be a candidate for reelection.
