As a friend who’s in law enforcement said to me when the Katie Stienle story was still big: Departments are moving away from automatic weapons because they don’t want the bad PR that’s going to come their way when a weapon is lost and used during the commission of a crime.
Almost never spoken about publicly, law enforcement (collectively) loses a significant number of weapons every year. A 10-year study finished a few years ago found that nationally, LEOs lost almost 2K firearms in that 10-year period. 2K.
Not yet. San Antonio.
Washington moves so slowly, and I don't think there are enough votes to pass a serious threat to the 2nd, that though the noise is noisy ... it is just noise ..... at this point
PUT ON ....
Conservatives / Republicans need to grow a pair like our resident
Holy crap, I just realized ....
I've posted something that sounds like the South that never let go, ala Jefferson Davis !
Thank you, Travis. Another great one, and I’m using it!
“ Yes. Unfortunately the location wasn’t burned in my brain so SA didn’t mean anything to me.”
No one interested in a Texas mass shooting (attempt) Good guy with gun takes him out
I meant a large, 500+ employee facility/factory/office.
I’ve worked at banks, telecom facilities, and hospitals. None of the permitted weapons of any sort. In any location. Ever—at least not since 1974 when I entered the workforce.
As I wrote, we had armed security where it was needed. But for the run-of-the mill employee...nope.

I don’t mean you.
But no headlines on this story
They need to go ahead and make the shooter white in case he isn’t.
I have a relative who is a State Policeman. For his issued concealed carry, they gave him an old 38 snub nose. For his uniformed carry its still a .45...but I was surprised at the “old school” revolver for concealed.
Like Sen. Kennedy of LA said:
“We don’t need gun control. We need idiot control.”
Most LEO’s out here carry Glocks. For concealed carry they are allowed to pick their own gun, but (if I remember right) it has to be 9mm and use issued ammo.
My bride loves .38 snubbies.
“There was an attempted mass shooting in San Antonio. Texas. Yesterday. At the airport
You don’t know about that right?”
Yes, I do, KSAT TV had a thorough report on it.

The first place shooters look for.
It’s been speculated that many of those “lost” weapons (especially ex-military and automatic ones) have gone home with officers. Not the same as “lost” lost, but still just as unaccountable and no less a bad idea.
Yes, I agree that most large companies prohibit it. And the huge majority of mass public shootings take place in gun-free zones.
Lt. Col. (Ret) Dave Grossman http://www.killology.com predicted over a decade ago that when the school shooter generation reached adulthood there would be an explosion of workplace mass killings.
It has come to pass.
To me, a retired infantry officer, I am shocked at the tolerance - for lack of a better word - that civilian law enforcement, federal, local & state has for ‘lost’ weapons.
In the Marines, if you lose a weapon in garrison or while training, you’re going to the brig and depending on the circumstances, your platoon sergeant, company CO and maybe even battalion CO are all getting relieved. It’s a big effing deal. Even combat losses aren’t simply dismissed with the stroke of a pen. There’s an investigation and it’s thorough. More than once I sent marines back into the field to find something that shouldn’t have been lost because that’s what command expected.
Did you hear of anyone being fired who or disciplined for losing track of that Stienle weapon? I sure didn’t. It’s never really even been explained.
Ping.
I’m carrying extra .45cal ACP 230gr HP mags, now, for my Kimber “Eclipse Target II”... There’s too much of this leftist crap going on these days.
