After the Civilian Office of Police Accountability (COPA) released the bodycam footage of 13-year-old Adam Toledo being fatally shot by a police officer, it was discovered that the teenager had his hands up before the shot was fired. Also, the police's claim of Adam's shooting being an 'armed confrontation' was countered as in the video footage Adam appears unarmed.
Meanwhile, some Twitter users and media publications are pointing out that Adam Toledo's friends are offering their tributes to him calling him names like 'Lil' Homicide' and 'Bvby Diablo'. It is being speculated that these names indicate the teenager's involvement with a gang. In a tweet thread on Friday, April 15, 2021, journalist Andy Ngo wrote, "Tributes to deceased armed teen Adam Toledo by his friends refer to him by his gang names, "Lil' Homicide" and "Bvby Diablo."

He likely thought he was being clever by throwing the gun away and looking unarmed when he raised his hands but the cop couldn't know what he had done.
He made the mistake of ditching the gun in a sneaky way.
If he’s the one that popped off the nine rounds in the video( and a pistol with the slide locked back was found near him)then he was a cold-blooded little bastard.

He also hid his right hand by turning his body to the side—the hand that the officer thought held the gun. Then, in a flash, he raised both hands without warning. The officer thought he raised his hand to fire the weapon. He had a split second to determine if he was going to get shot.
This took place in Chicago.
While he may have believed he was being clever hiding his actions in tossing the gun the cop, not having seen him tossing the gun, couldn't know he tossed the gun.
Had he dropped the gun in sight of the cop he might still be alive.

I hope they root out those who influenced this kid to act this way so he got himself killed. What are his parents doing letting their 13-year-old roam the streets at 2 AM?
