The proposals come after shootings again made headlines across the country, including in Colorado and Georgia, and after President Joe Biden ordered a series of gun control measures.
New Jersey Democratic Gov. Phil Murphy on Thursday called for a dozen new gun control measures, a sweeping election-year agenda aimed at tightening laws already considered among the toughest in the nation.
Murphy unveiled the measures in Newark, the state’s largest city, during a more than an hourlong, rally-like event in a crowded community center. The Democrat-led Legislature will weigh in on most of the measures, and in a sign of legislative support, influential state lawmakers like state Sen. Teresa Ruiz and Assembly Majority Leader Louis Greenwald attended the event and spoke.
Newark-native Lt. Gov. Sheila Oliver’s voice cracked as she lamented the gun violence that has disproportionately affected cities. Half of the state’s deaths from guns last year came in just five cities, according to Murphy.

New Jersey is one of only six states which have no state constitutional protection of the right to keep and bear arms.

How in the world does a venomous snake like Murphy get elected to anything anywhere? Voters in America have lost their minds.
Every single proposal there is utterly useless. Like Murphy.
According to a friend of mine in NJ he promised to legalize pot. So far he hasn't lifted a finger to do so. She also said his Republican opponent was such a weak-kneed RINO he inspired no support from conservatives.
