Former Minneapolis Police Officer Derek Chauvin Declines to Testify in His Trial
The Epoch Times ^ | April 15, 2021 | Zachary Stieber

Former Minneapolis police officer (Derek Chauvin) on Thursday invoked his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination and declined to testify in his trial in the death of ( George Floyd.)

[snip] The judge offered to read a set of sentences to the jury in regards to Chauvin’s decision, which would explain to jurors that Chauvin had no obligation to prove innocence, that he had the right not to testify, and advise them not to make any inference about the decision. Chauvin said he would like the script to be read.

I would do the same; there are so many explanations as to the Cause of Floyd's death by the media and other "experts"...the facts are muddled. Floyd was the cause of his own death...

The trial has been going Chauvin‘s way with the prosecution not proving any points with the jury. Chauvin and his defense team are making the right choice.

The standard default is for the accused to not testify.

Best to say nothing in his situation. Whatever he says would only be used to fan the flames back up. Even if he knelt down on the cold stone Courtroom floors, sobbing and begging forgiveness, someone would find a reason to react with (white) hot rage.

No way the jury comes back with a NG ruling knowing that the city will burn if they do.

There’s that old legal adage - “If you want to walk, you’ve got to talk”

Chauvin and his defense team are making the right choice.

Pretty much looks that way.

I’ve been half following this at legal insurrection - today the state brought up BRAND NEW EVIDENCE, a blood-oxy result everyone has been swearing didn’t exist for months.

Like Democrat votes in the dead of night, this test result magically showed up just in time for the LAST DAY of the trial!

Two medical witnesses for the prosecution said he died from lack of oxygen.

A witness for the defense hit a home run when he said there was no test for carbohydroxyhemoglobin.

Well, low and behold....seems the prosecution found the test. What did it show...Floyd was NOT oxygen deprived. The test was in the 98 percentile...which is normal.

So Chauvin's restraining method did NOT deprive him of oxygen.

Rioting will occur either way. It will likely be contained to democrat cities. The racial divide will become wider however. Just as planned.

“No way the jury comes back with a NG ruling knowing that the city will burn if they do.”

Agreed.

You just know that someone in the jury will bring that very issue up if there’s a deadlock. Some Karen will start squealing “Ooooh, we can’t have this destruction and mean-ness” and some Devontae will say “If youz crackers deadlock us and the pig gits off, the bro’s and sis’s are gonna fire up de torches. And dat shizzle is gonna be’s on you”.

He’ll be found guilty. It’s just a question of which charge.

It took them that long to manufacture it.

Mr Chavin. Needs, if he can avoid a wrongful conviction, find someplace to move. Probably outside the USSRA. I would suggest Thailand.

Best we can probably hope for is one principled man to take a stand and force a hung jury.

>>...not proving any points with the jury.<<

we don't know that.
I'm wondering why the jury isn't informed of a defendant's rights before the trial.

Didn’t work so much in “Legally Blond”
