My vote is with George H.W. Bush as worst ever:
1). He stopped the Reagan revolution in its tracks. Purged the Reaganites from his administration
2). He was the father of NAFTA, WTO and other one sided trade agreements. The open the US market wide to global competition with countries subsidizing exports and controlling their own markets did significant and perhaps ultimately fatal damage to the US economy and national security. Prior to George H.W. China was a backwater 3rd world economy and the US had almost completely self sufficient supply chains in almost every industry. It was that industrial independence that permitted us to win WW II. Thanks to George H.W. and his successors, critical supply chains have been offshored, China has become an industrial power to rival the US, the US middle class has been gutted with the offshoring of good paying manufacturing jobs, and our trade deficit is appalling. We are a debtor nation with crumbling infrastructure. For the first time in our history parents cannot look forward to their children living a better life than they did.
Mandated the ADA, I know an old hotel in Lake Placid that can only use 50% of the rooms because they don't have an elevator. Too old and too costly, so they try to ruing a small business guy who wants to provide a service and maintain a historic building.
