WASHINGTON — Federal health agencies on Tuesday called for an immediate pause in use of Johnson & Johnson’s single-dose coronavirus vaccine after six recipients in the United States developed a rare disorder involving blood clots within about two weeks of vaccination.
All six recipients were women between the ages of 18 and 48. One woman died and a second woman in Nebraska has been hospitalized in critical condition.
Nearly seven million people in the United States have received Johnson & Johnson shots so far, and roughly nine million more doses have been shipped out to the states, according to data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
“We are recommending a pause in the use of this vaccine out of an abundance of caution,” Dr. Peter Marks, director of the Food and Drug Administration’s Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research, and Dr. Anne Schuchat, principal deputy director of the C.D.C., said in joint statement. “Right now, these adverse events appear to be extremely rare.”
While the move was framed as a recommendation to health practitioners in the states, the federal government is expected to pause administration of the vaccine at all federally run vaccination sites. Federal officials expect that state health officials will take that as a strong signal to do the same. Within two hours of the announcement, Gov. Mike DeWine of Ohio, a Republican, advised all health providers in his state to temporarily stop giving Johnson shots. New York State and Connecticut quickly followed suit.
Scientists with the F.D.A. and C.D.C. will jointly examine possible links between the vaccine and the disorder and determine whether the F.D.A. should continue to authorize use of the vaccine for all adults or limit the authorization. An emergency meeting of the C.D.C.’s outside advisory committee has been scheduled for Wednesday.

It has always been my opinion that the vaccines were a necessary thing to develop to minister to the most at risk populations such as the very elderly, and never should’ve been mandated or forced on the way they are now For normal healthy people.
And, the J&J vaccine is the more “traditional” of the three; the other two use a completely different technique that interacts directly with your DNA (with as-yet-unknown future consequences).
If I had to take one, I’d prefer to wait for the J&J to be made available again rather than take my chances with the Frankenvaccines.

Some would say that. But 6 cases out of 7 million hardly seems a big deal. That amounts just .000000857 probability of it happening and then only if you are a woman.
I’m not aware of any vaccines for any disease which have a zero negative reaction.

There’s NovaVax on the pipeline expected to be approved early May, but who knows what side effects it might give?

Most people get that the moderna ‘vaccine’ is a modified RNA injection, but they also think the JnJ vaccine is traditional, when it is truly an rDNA injection.

Nothing in this country makes sense anymore. Six bad reactions out of seven million people vaccinated grinds the whole J&J program to a halt. Is it an “abundance of caution”, or is something weird and sinister going on here?
I’m a health care worker and I can see mandatory vaccinations for us in the future, it’s already mandatory for us to have flu shots. I’m not ready to retire anytime soon. Between this and the sabotage in the lab I figured I needed to get ahead of this and get the j&j vaccine now. Got it yesterday, looks like it was just in time
