Idaho lawmakers hear pitch to absorb three-fourths of Oregon to create nation’s 3rd-largest state

The Idaho Legislature would have to approve the plan that would expand Idaho’s southwestern border to the Pacific Ocean. The Oregon Legislature and the U.S. Congress would also have to sign off.

Supporters of the idea said rural Oregon voters are dominated by liberal urban areas such as Portland, and would rather join conservative Idaho. Portland would remain with Oregon.

“There’s a longtime cultural divide as big as the Grand Canyon between northwest Oregon and rural Oregon, and it’s getting larger,” Mike McCarter, president of Move Oregon’s Border for a Greater Idaho, told Idaho lawmakers.

If Oregon had one House of its legislature having an equal number of legisl00ters per county, there would be a buffer against the leftoid excesses of Portland-Eugene-Salem, but the Supreme Court killed that idea in 1964.

I believe the US Constitution only mentions the involvement of the US Congress when "new" states are formed.

In this case, there would be no new state.

The new state would be called Udaho.

That 75% of Oregon does not have a lot of population but it will help to dilute all,those 3rd worlders Biden under Obama’s direction is busing in. Gives us a little more time to deal with that influx.

Maybe Idaho can then start electing real conservatives, not RINO’s.

The State of Jefferson (Northern CA and Southern OR) had increasing traction to the point of inaugurating a provisional government with Judge L. Childs elected Governor. Pearl Harbor essentially put an end to the momentum.

if Oregon had a huge output of conservatives plus have conservaties and patriots at polling places and a stadium full of lawyers ready to check all the names, legalities, etc....the legislature could be converted back to red.....most of Oregone is red IMO...
