Went to look at data on serology tests to see if previous exposure was a significant factor in “herd immunity” and couldn’t find anything at CDC about it!
They had info on who IS infected, but not on who has been infected according to testing.

My commentary is about how that day’s numbers compare to the recent trend. The day prior was stronger, this report’s number was relatively weak. It is still much stronger than a day in February.

They don’t report (that I have found) on the total numbers that have been infected - only the number of cases confirmed by testing (now about 31 million).

By now, it should be well over 100 million - 150 to 180, by the higher end estimates, like Dr. Makary of John Hopkins.
The antibody tests are only good for a month or two after infection, so it is hard to tell for sure if someone has been infected prior to that window.
All other things being equal, I’d think that those areas that previously had a lot of reported cases (like NYC) would likely already have higher levels of immunity.

When you look at adults, it is around 46% with a first shot, and 28% fully vaccinated. When you add those naturally exposed, we are racing toward herd immunity.
Among those who matter most for mortality and hospitalization - those 65 or older, it is around 79% with a first shot, and 62% fully vaccinated.

The findings from 146 people – of whom half took 800 micrograms of the medication twice a day and half were on usual care – suggests that inhaled budesonide reduced the relative risk of requiring urgent care or hospitalisation by 90% in the 28-day study period. Participants allocated the budesonide inhaler also had a quicker resolution of fever, symptoms and fewer persistent symptoms after 28 days.
90% effective in preventing hospitalization. Obviously if you don’t go to the hospital you also don’t die.
That’s as good as a vaccine yet it comes with none of the risks of a vaccine, including viral evasion, ADE and direct vaccine-related injury.
The trial was inspired by the fact that, in the early days of the pandemic, patients with chronic respiratory disease, who are often prescribed inhaled steroids, were significantly under-represented among those admitted to hospital with COVID-19.
Which of course should have been the other way around since it’s a respiratory virus and thus you’d expect someone with compromised lung function to get hit harder than someone who was not.
I will point out that a Texas doctor was talking about this last spring and yet the NIH and CDC did nothing with that, and in fact the FDA says there is no treatment.

If survival rate was 99.8% what happened to those 550,000 Americans dead from the China virus? If only 0.2% died, then US population must be = 550,000 / 0.2% X 10% infected = 27,500 Million! = 27.5 Billion!
