The cyber-attack on the heavily guarded Natanz plant in Iran will set back Tehran’s nuclear programme by nine months, US intelligence sources have claimed.
Iran’s foreign ministry has blamed Israel for the attack, and although Israel has not confirmed responsibility its officials have done little to dispel the notion.
US intelligence sources told the New York Times the attack on Saturday led to an explosion that destroyed the independently protected power supply to advanced centrifuges that create enriched uranium, and that it could take at least nine months to restore production. The sources said they believed Israel was responsible.
Israel appears to confirm it carried out cyberattack on Iran nuclear facility Read more Iranian intelligence claimed to have identified an individual inside the plant’s hall who was responsible for the sabotage by disrupting the flow of electricity, but the account was being treated with caution and may be intended to show the plant’s electricity flow was not vulnerable to external attack.
At a press conference, the Iranian foreign ministry said no one was injured and only a relatively simple centrifuge had been damaged, which would be replaced by more advanced models that could purify uranium at greater speed. However, the plant’s proven vulnerability to Israeli attack makes this claim questionable.
There was no comment on the attack by the US defence secretary, Lloyd Austin, who was in Jerusalem at the time. Standing next to him at a press conference, Israel’s prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, did not confirm his country’s role in the attack but appeared to reference the incident.

Yea...right. I don’t believe this report at all.
I hope so.
Might make a good movie in a few years.
For this admin, what’s important here is to cast blame, or responsibility, on Israel.
Should have infected it with ransomware and told the mullahs they could have their centrifuges back if they self immolated on live TV.
US intelligence sources told the New York Times
That statement should scare the crap out of any patriot.
Good for Israel, cause we sure as hell aren’t going to do anything.
Yeah, Israel!!
It’s far more likely they cut off the electrical supply themselves through simple incompetence. But if Israel DID do it- GOOD! Hit’em again!
>>cause we sure as hell aren’t going to do anything.<<
Unless there is money in it for the Bidens. America for sale.
US says that to a public newspaper, that it is Israel. Why?
>>cause we sure as hell aren’t going to do anything.<<
Unless there is money in it for the Bidens. America is for sale.
Because, y'know, the leak to the New York Slimes is about the US' only foreign policy problem, the Israeli occupation of Arab lands. /rimshot
So, any theories on how Isralies (sp?) pulled this off? Do they actually have infiltrators on site? Or, are Iran engineers so darned stupid that there is no air gap between their control systems and the WWW? Oh, I hope so.
The Slimes found a parking lot attendant willing to talk to them?
That’s true. Iran has been trying to get centrifuges from at least 1991. 30 years ago and we’re still playing games (J.F. Kerry/Obamatard) and giving them pallets of cash. Did they give them gold too? If they want nukes we should give them one. The f’n Chinese clearly need to be shown a sign.
Think the conventional way... 250 or 500lb gps and/or laser guided bombs or cruise misses. Cyber attack is a plausible an excuse so that the Arab league member look at their radar archives or listen to the goat herders to closely.
The russians are not much help, as they want to just sell iran more S-300 and S-400 systems. Problem for iran is S-300 and S-400 systems are shipped from NATO allies with russian support contracts after every upgrade phase to Nevada and Israel has a manned and unmanned squadron in Nevada near constantly drilling against top of the line russian export hardware.
When your a an oil state with to much money, the old guard, really just cares about separating the power structure from its petrodollars. If russia cared about IRAN they would export the real full up S-400 software.
More industrial accidents in Iran’s labs.
As much as I like smoke and ash, this may be a better tactic.
