Trump goes after McConnell, Fauci in off-script Mar-a-Lago speech
NY Post ^ | 4/11/21 | Brie Stimson

Posted on 04/11/2021 4:01:15 AM PDT by conservative98

"If that were Schumer instead of this dumb son of a b----, Mitch McConnell, they would never allow it to happen," Trump said of the certification of the 2020 election results at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, according to The Washington Post.

"If that were Schumer instead of this dumb son of a b----, Mitch McConnell, they would never allow it to happen."

Trump vowed in the speech he would help Republicans win back the majority in Congress in 2022.

"I stand before you this evening filled with confidence that in 2022, we are going to take back the House and we are going to reclaim the Senate," he said in his prepared remarks, according to Reuters.

Trump didn’t say whether he plans to run for president again but assured donors "in 2024, a Republican candidate is going to win the White House."

He said any potential announcements of his own candidacy would likely come after the 2022 midterms, according to Reuters.

Fauci 'full of crap'

Trump also went after Elaine Chao, his former transportation secretary and McConnell’s wife, who resigned after the U.S. Capitol riot on Jan. 6. He claimed after he hired Chao she never said "thank you."

He touted his response to the coronavirus pandemic last year and mocked White House chief medical adviser Dr. Anthony Fauci for first advising against masks at the beginning of the pandemic and he joked that Fauci now wants Americans to wear "five" masks.

"Have you ever seen anybody that is so full of crap?" he asked of Fauci, according to the Post.

Trump even said someone recently suggested the vaccine should be called "Trumpcine" because of Operation Warp Speed, which helped accelerate the development of the vaccines last year.

That’s great! One of the things I never understood is that Trump attacked Gov. Kemp of GA for this same thing...Kemp was one of the first to resist the shutdown and mask stuff, although of course Dem Atlanta in turn ignored him and shut down as much as it could. That said, I think it was one of the reasons Kemp was less supportive of Trump than he could have been.

I was puzzled by it at the time, except that I think Trump was still under the sway of Fauci in the early days.

Trump has that scumbag McConnell figured out. Hopefully 2024 will see his sorry butt ejected from the premises.

This little propagandist is a pure menace to our entire society. A sensible, just society would have put him in prison by now, or at the very least locked him away in some isolation area to ensure he can never show his face on television again. Instead, he will no doubt make several appearances on the Sunday network TV propaganda shows today, in which he will continue to spread his false, constantly-conflicting propaganda and not be able to explain why he has been wrong about literally everything about this virus for 15 solid months now.

McConnell isn't up for election again until 2026.

Desantis moved a little slower and had a better plan - restaurants first, the nail salons were closed a little longer. Kemp jumped right in and started off with the nail salons and massage parlor opening which freaked people out at the time.

What kind of "sensible and just society" locks people up just because they disagree with what they are saying?

CNN had to jump on the Band Wagon with .. “Trump repeats election lies and insults McConnell in front of RNC donors in Palm Beach”

‘McConnell isn’t up for election again until 2026”

But his post could be held by another after the next election.

It would be nice but I'm not holding my breath. McConnell is a survivor.

For any latent Democrats or melting snowflakes out there, he was just channeling his inner Harry Truman. Sometimes you just have to get that mule’s attention.

Who cares what the deranged Soviet style propagandists at CNN have to say?
Haven’t their ratings totally collapsed recently?

What’s “off script” about it?
President Trump was exactly on script

If Trump would have stood behind the podium in April 2020 and endorsed certain facilities like massage and tattoo parlors going first he would have been roasted. Trump said he disagreed, but at the same time he said Kemp must do what he thinks is right. He said it was a little bit too soon, but not by much. He praised Kemp’s “bold leadership and insight during these difficult times” So it wasn’t much of an attack

It’s true, Kemp was first in reopening, and I think that it had taken Trump a while to shake off Fauci’s evil influence and he wasn’t there yet. Trump was a notorious “germaphobe” and probably a little more inclined than most to believe Dr. Doom, and I think he at first bent over backwards trying to cooperate with Fauci. Than I think he came to his senses, based on observation and some good input from Dr Scott Atlas and other actual medical people (unlike the career bureaucrat Fauci).

One of the other problems was that Trump had put Pence in charge of the virus response, and it was Pence who had elevated Fauci to godhood.Trump was always careful not to criticize or appear to conflict with Pence, and I think this factored into his own public response to what might have been perceived as challenges, such as Kemp’s reopening.

Who would have been a better choice than Pence?
