WASHINGTON (AP) — From a secure room in the Capitol on Jan. 6, as rioters pummeled police and vandalized the building, Vice President Mike Pence tried to assert control. In an urgent phone call to the acting defense secretary, he issued a startling demand.
“Clear the Capitol,” Pence said.
Elsewhere in the building, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi were making a similarly dire appeal to military leaders, asking the Army to deploy the National Guard.
These new details about the deadly riot are contained in a previously undisclosed document prepared by the Pentagon for internal use that was obtained by The Associated Press and vetted by current and former government officials.
The timeline adds another layer of understanding about the state of fear and panic while the insurrection played out, and lays bare the inaction by then-President Donald Trump and how that void contributed to a slowed response by the military and law enforcement. It shows that the intelligence missteps, tactical errors and bureaucratic delays were eclipsed by the government’s failure to comprehend the scale and intensity of a violent uprising by its own citizens.
With Trump not engaged, it fell to Pentagon officials, a handful of senior White House aides, the leaders of Congress and the vice president holed up in a secure bunker to manage the chaos.

By what authority can a Vice-President tell people to “clear the Capitol?”
“Deadly riot” is fake. The only violent death was at the hands of a Federal agent, who shot a woman in the neck, probably without even aiming.

No matter what they say or how the lying media spin it, the ONLY death from Jan 6th incursion into the Capital Building was the death of un-armed Air Force veteran Ashli Babbitt who was shot and killed by Capital policeman who is STILL unnamed...

Very nice— from the “almost” press— continuing and expanding on the Narrative. Point of fact- there is ZERO confirmation of ANY of these statements, and a number of recently revealed info as to Pelosi and Schumer that is being suppressed, and proving they did NOTHING of the sort. That there was concurrence with Pelosi, Schumer and McConnell (hence the FIRING of the Capitol Police Chief to shut him up about the timelines and actions).
AP continues the fake narrative— no surprise. Let’s hear from Pence. Think we will?
We DID hear the truth about Ashley Babbit— LEFT SHOULDER penetration by a 9mm FRAGMENTATION round— which fragments entered her left lung lobe and vessels therein— and she bled to death internally. Still no NAME as to whom the OFFICER was who fired the round, when he had no NEED to— and as to WHO authorized the discharge of the weapon.
THERE is something the AP could be looking for— fat chance.
This is red meat for the morons who would believe this shite about how “responsive” the building dwelling pols in Congress were concerned (surely only for the protection of the Capitol building, not themselves.. “clear the building”! Yeah, right).
If there’s any such thing as a Media Propaganda, Lies, and Damned Lies Award, this piece deserves 1st place.
Some of the words are true in abd of themselves but the scenarios and contexts described are straight outta Pravda.
Two points, please:
1. As President of the Senate, Pence has the right to ask for National Guard help. But he has no right to “demand” it.
2. There are all sorts of police agencies in DC (the DC police, the Capitol police, the US Marshals, etc.). I find it troubling that the Deep Staters called on a military force - the National Guard - so quickly.

I suspect the National Guard takes hours to mobilize.
Calls might have been placed to Fort Myers, the Pentagon, Quantico, that might have provided help within an hour.
Of course, Pence could have simply spoken to the crowd and explained his position.
With the presence of several thousand iPhone cameras one would think there would be lots of verification of this statement! THERE ISN’T!
